The good thing about my college is it is in Kolkata so lots of opportunities and things you can do apart from college. The admission Process was through counseling on wbjeeb.nic.in, During Admission they told to pay through demand draft but also accepted cash payment, Reason for preferring this college at that time was due to less course fee compared to any other private college and some suggestion I got through my contacts and reviews on college duniya and shiksha.com I also search on quora.
I choose this course because computer hardware related things as well as programming comes under this section and frankly speaking this was the best I could get in this college according to my rank. Faculties are quite good ( obviously not like Kota teachers or IITs ) and supportive, interact with every student, and also guides for our career. Most of the faculties have the highest qualification of M.tech from Jadavpur University Kolkata, Two internals are there and one final for each semester. Internals does not matter that much but semester exams matter and you have to study to get above 8 cgpa. Overall it's easy to score around 7 cgpa.
Not on-campus internships are available till now. students grab off-campus internship in companies like BSNL e.t.c some students also get internship opportunities in amazon and big IT companies. There is an IEEE society that helps students of the ECE branch to get placed in core companies.
From 7th sem students can sit on placements. Mass recruiting companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra comes and take away most of the students with a package of 3.2 to 4 lakh. In my branch, 75 to 80 percent of students get placed every year. Well, I want to join an IT company because I figure out that my interest is more towards software engineering.
Fees for a whole 4-year course for every branch is same i.e around 3 lakh 80 thousand. Bengal residency students get the almost full scholarship they only pay exam fees and some extra no big amount. Fees are not high compared to any private college.
Eclecia is the annual fest in our college but for the last few years, it got canceled for some reasons. Though there are so many events keep happening in our college. All Classrooms are not Air-conditioned but clean and good environment in classes. Rotaract club is the most active club and DSC HIT is for programmers. Sports like football, cricket, volleyball are popular on our campus, and inter college events are also organized.
I had an interest in coding and was fascinated by technology so I decided to pursue cit in the computer science department. Cit is a very good place for the course. This college has good faculty support. Faculty, student ratio is 1:15. The facilities of these branches are very inspiring and helpful. All faculties are m-tech and phd qualified. They teach with great care and clear all the doubt of the student. The exam is taken at the appropriate time. According to me if anyone attends the class regularly it will be easy for him.
I am in 2nd year so we have no information regarding placement but we heard a lot of reputed companies come and all the seniors got jobs according to their eligibility. They groom us in a different way by giving boot camps and all for making us ready for the job interviews from 1st year.
The student gets eligible from the 5th to 6th semester. The companies that visited the last year are Adobe, JIO, etc. The highest package is 17 LPA and is 12-13 LPA. As per last year mostly 70% got the placement, some with campus and some off-campus, and some also went for further studies.
My college does provide many pieces of training, industrial training and hands-on training also gate class the provided by the college. FromEnd of the 3rd year itself, students are eligible to get placed. Some of the companies visited are Tata Consultancy Services, Capgemini etc. Almost 90% of the students get placed every year. And my plans after getting my B TECH degree is to get a job first and then after experiencing I have thought of opening my own startup.
More than 75 percent of students get placed every year, even in this post corona situation , our college vhas provided placements to students. I have planned to get into a Tier 1 ,service based MNC & after pursuing job for 2 years , i have also planned to pursue higher studies as , Tier 1 , MNC's encourages, their employees to develop degree
The top recruiting companies in the tech fields are tcs, cognizant , infosys and Amazon. The highest salary package offered in our course is 14 lakh and the lowest salary package offered is 4.5 lakh and the average salary package offered is 6.41 lakh. Around 80-90% of the students in our college gets placed during the campus placements. My plan after getting the degree is to get a job under a good company.
From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placement. TCS, Cognizant, ITC INFOTECH, WIPRO TECHNOLOGIES, MINDTREE, CAPGEMINI, SERVICES, WIPRO TECHNOLOGIES, BARIZA SOFTWARE, CHEGG INDIA. offer 3 lakh to 6 lakh packages per annum. 50 to 60 students got placement. Doing a good job.
From the 6th semester, we are eligible for the campus placement. There are many companies like Infosys, Cognizant, Cap Gemini, TCS, etc that come to our college and offer approx 90% campusing. The highest package was 1.5lacks per month and the lowest package was 20000 per month. There are approximately 85% to 90% of students get a job from college. I plan to be an officer of government in any core platform, like RAIL or POWER PLANTS or any kind of government industry.
7th sem students are eligible for campus placement. Many good companies come in our college average salary was 7L/ year. & Highest package is 9.5L/ Year. College tries every Student get a job like 60%- 100%. 90-95% of students are getting placement by our college. I am starting a startup with my degree.
The placements are great, a lot of companies and organizations come for campus placements throughout the year and offer all kinds of roles for everyone's requirement. Also, internship opportunities are there. Higher packages go up to around 14-18 LPA approximately. And most average is around 6 LPA. Mass companies also visit for hiring many students. The percentage of students getting placements is dependent on course, computer science students 70-80% get placed by the end of the year. After getting the degree my plan was to work and get on-field experience which is what I'm doing.
