Remarks
Swami Keshwanand Institute Of Technology, Management and Gramothan (SKIT) have the best to offer for everything. Be it extra-curricular or academics. I've preferred getting into this college as it has been ranked as the top 1 college through Rajasthan Technical University for the third consecutive year. SKIT maintains very high discipline and there is a strict rule for 75% attendance. The campus is fine and is approximately 13 acres. Most of the staff is outstanding and instructs well. You can get admission in SKIT via REAP i.e. Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process. There is also a tuition fee waiver scheme available.
Course Curriculum Overview
Professors are outstanding and educated well. Much of the members of the faculty have their M.Tech and PhD degrees from IITs/NITs or other reputable institutes. The computer science department is accredited by the NBA which ensures the best of academics and placements.
Internships Opportunities
There was a recent internship opportunity offered to Adobe this winter for the II and III year students. Besides this, they offer many interns opportunities off as well as on-campus and also provide the necessary training to the students.
Placement Experience
The placements of SKIT are quite good. There are companies coming in for internships starting from the II year only. Campus Placements starts from III years itself and goes on till the IV year. Almost 90% of the students get placed every year. Although there is more of quantity here compared to the quality. Some of the companies visiting SKIT are TCS, Infosys etc. The Average Package is 3-5 lpa and the highest goes to 7-12 lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
The semester fee ( for I Year ) is Rs 45,200 which includes Tuition Fee and Development Fee. The total course fee (per annum) for the year is Rs 90,400 which is Government Approved. There is the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme and students admitted under this scheme need not pay the tuition fee. The scholarships available are:( For Family Income less than or equal to 8 lpa ) 1) Pragati Scholarship- For girls 2) Saksham Scholarship- For Specially-Abled.
Campus Life
There are many clubs run by the students. Some of them are listed below: 1)Dance and Music Clubs 2)Science and Technology Club 3)Sports Club 4) Toastmasters club 5) Robotics Club 6)Spic Macay Club 7) Docu-Drama Club The annual fest is Pravah Conducted in Feb for a week which has 3 days as the sports fest,2 days as the social and tech fests running followed by the annual day and prize-giving on the last and final day of the week. The library is quite maintained and almost all books/journals are available. Although, I'm not quite a big fan of the social life we have at SKIT. Students are not allowed to leave the campus as and whenever they wish to. They would require a gate pass ( to be taken from the Head Of Department ) to leave early in case they wish to.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel isn't very good. Going via the cost they ask you to pay for the rent, it's quite more than what they actually offer. Although, hostels have a gym facility the overall experience of living in the SKIT's hostel isn't nice and easy going. They offer Double bedrooms for girls and a single-seater room for boys. They are really strict when it comes to timings. For boys, it's 9:00 pm and for girls, it's 7:00 pm which reduces to 5:30 pm in winters. Coming to mess, I won't say it's good but it isn't bad either. Although efforts could be made to make it more hygenic and the timings of the mess could be modified as the food is served only till 8-8:30 pm.
