Remarks

Stanley Medical College is good in all point of views.it has good infrastructure and a peaceful environment to study, it also has better hostel facilities. It is ranked top for the past 50 years and more competitive to other medical colleges. The admission is just done as per NMC. The facultative are too experienced and they sprinkle their knowledge over us.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course because I wanted to study medicine. There is like 1 faculty for 30 students. Everyone is well experienced. Term exams are easy to pass and are the most important ones. Faculties are student-friendly, they clear students doubts at any time.

Class Size: 250Course Fees: INR 6 per year

Internships Opportunities

Ther is no companies or hospitals that is to provide internship. Our college associated hospital provides us with the internship opportunity to practice medicine for a year, that is more than enough to learn practical medicine.

Placement Experience

There is no campus selection. Everyone gets an internship opportunity when they complete the final year. The college provides 22,000 per month for everyone who does an internship in the college. I plan to do an MD course after the internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is 30,000 per annum and hostel, mess fees comes around 5000 per month. There are many scholarships provide by the mgr university and also the college itself. For too poor people there is alumni scholarship to pay hostel dues.

Campus Life

There are many fests conducted on campus and also in hostel especially euphoria, aval and many others which will be much exciting with stars participating in such functions. Every sport is appreciated and funds are separated for sports.

Hostel Facilities

Room is provided with 3 tube lights and two fans and three people per room. There are separate shelves for everyone. The meal is unlimited and extras carry additional charges. The registration is done inside the hostel campus.

Hostel Fee: INR 70000 per year

Interview Experience

No, there is no interview, group discussion, test for admission. As it is a government college, it is purely based on the marks of the entrance exam. There are no management seats available in this college or any other government medical colleges.

Tagore Medical College from my POV

Likes

The college has a very dedicated set of faculties who are very supportive. The faculties are easy to approach and very friendly. Every faculty is well experienced in their subject.
The college not only focuses on our academic development but extracurricular activities. There is a huge cricket ground in campus where we can play sports. There is also a college band.
The library is open till 8 pm. The library has prep ladder tablets which students could make use of.

Dislikes

The infrastructure could be a little more developed

Our curriculum is CBME based curriculum. It is more clinically oriented. We get to answer questions only after diagnosing the clinical case based questions. It focuses more on practical knowledge rather than just focusing on the theory part. It makes us ready to handle patients.

Many extracurricular clubs are there like Im in the fashion parade one.
Air conditioning facilities is avalaible jn almost all lecture halls
College is near to the metro and electric train stations making it easy for travels

Dislikes

Continous tests makes us uninterested in the subject.
Monotonous way of talking inevitably leading to us sleeping in class
Boys and girls cum activities are less leading to less interactions

Course Curriculum Overview:

For my medical field i feel some subjects are unnecessary in my view point like the community medicines. I feel anatomy weightage should be more compared to buochemistrand physiology. I would like them to improve the chapters and remove chalters that are unnecessary so that we medical students can concentrate on whats inportant rather than studying everything and stuffing our brain.

The atmosphere is so clean, infrastructure is much better when compared to other pvt. Medical institutions
The teaching faculty are good and supportive the labs are well equipped
The college encourages many sports and celebrates all festivals

Dislikes

The college is very strict with the dress code
Could improve the food in hostel and canteen
Does not allow outing for first year girls

Recently we have adopted CBME curriculum which is competency based medical education Since then the course has become a bot difficult and its necessary for making good doctors who are going to deal with life and death in the future

This college is very much strict in many aspects, like no talking between boys and girls

I liked the campus life. As all of us have come from a stressful exam it's just fun to enjoy
I like the anatomy subject a lot . Cuz the faculties make the subject more interesting

Not all the faculties are teaching the same way.
Some people can misguide you as we are totally new here

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is well known for its complexity. It's so hard to understand in the first go. We will start to realise that 12th was just an ABCD. This not something impossible with patience and intrest it's easy to learn. Every month we will be having internals for each subject. It would be hectic but fruitful. Don't always street about academics there are lot of beautiful things to gaze at also.

Remarks:

The medical college and hospital is at Mundiyampakkam village, Villupuram District. Being located at a village, the medical college focuses on maintaining good health of rural people. There are 1100 beds which are used by patients. 650 beds are used for teaching and 450 beds are used for other medical purposes. Being close to nature, the college is surrounded by greenery. One can get fresh air and healthy environment easily. However, the city is a little bit far away.
