Remarks

Once a BITSian always a BITSian. One experience the feel of being a BITSian only by becoming a BITSian. The college management is open to all the students and helps the student body in all aspects, that makes all the fest and events on campus possible.

Entrance Preview

IIT - JEE, JEE Mains 263/360 after normalization 221/360, JEE Advanced 180/360, BITSAT 350/450. The Best option at better University- It is why I choose BITS.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The Academic Flexibility at BITS allows the students to pursue courses of their choice. Apart from the compulsory courses of respective branches students are allowed to opt for any available courses according to his/her convenience. The class hours are flexible and every student's timetable differs from the others. The electives are categorized as Disciplinary, Open and Humanities. Disciplinary electives includes the courses belonging to their branch which are not compulsory. Open includes the courses of other branches. Humanities concentrate on the bigger perspective of the world and psychology. Human Resource Development, International Relations and such courses.

Internships Opportunities

The College provides internship twice. Once after second year and once in fourth year, the first internship will be the first exposure to the real world situations and the student gets to meet various types of people at their workplace. Stipend wouldn't be provided for this intern. This intern longs for two months. The second intern is not compulsory. The student may or may not wish to go for the intern. He/she may do a thesis on or off campus. This intern longs for four months and stipend is provided by the offering company.

Placement Experience

4.5

Most of the students who take the intern in their fourth year gets Pre-Placement offers at the companies they take do their intern. ECE students can also appear for the CS placements and its an added advantage for the ECE students. Computer Science students usually get placed with packages around 25 lpa. Core students can also opt for an IT company and get placed. Students appear for GATE, GRE, CAT, Civil Services and mold their career accordingly.

College Events

5

Three major fests are held in the University (Names vary from Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses). At Hyderabad campus, ATMOS, the techno management test happens in October, witnesses a footfall of 1500. ARENA, the sports meet is held in January-February witnesses a footfall of close to 2000. PEARL, the annual Cultural fest is held in March and witnesses a footfall around 2000. Apart from these there are more than 20 fests that are held by various clubs, associations and organizations in the University.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The total fee a student has to pay is divided into 8 semesters and two practice schools. The fee is affordable and there are good opportunities to secure an educational loan. The fee increases by a maximum of 15 percent per year. It will be around 1.25 lac including the hostel and mess fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

The University provides scholarships to eligible students under two categories. Merit or Merit cum Need. The Merit scholarship is provided to students who excel and out stand in their academics. The Merit cum Need scholarship is provided to those students whose parents income is lower than the limit set by the University. The limit varies with time. Scholarships are provided as 80/40/25 percent fee waiver.

Campus Life

5

The gender ratio is not so good. It is around 6:1 boys:girls among students. There are numerous clubs, departments, associations, organizations to know and participate in 360 degrees. The admission into BITS is purely on merit and there are no quotas for any group and hence there exists harmony among the BITSians. BITSians compete among themselves during internal events and play together in outside events. Students Union elections occur at the beginning of the academic year in the month of August. The students union consist of President, General Secretary, Sports Secretary (Boys&Girls), Cultural Secretary (Boys&Girls), Student Mess Council and Hostel Representatives.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Every student of the University has to stay in the hostels provided. At Hyderabad each student is provided with an individual room. The rooms are well ventilated and electrified. Washrooms will be available at every corner of the floor. Each floor holds 80 rooms and four corners, each with seven bathrooms, seven toilets and five wash basins.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumini are the perfect examples for the student community at BITS. They are accessible to every BITSian. Senior-Junior interactions happen throughout the year as they work together during the Fests. Juniors and Seniors both depend on each other, improving their skills and correcting their faults.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is well scheduled and never leaves a student with the feeling of hectic. Test one, Test two and Comprehensive examinations are the three series of tests conducted during the semester. For the labs, the tests are mid-semester test and the final test. During the four months of the semester, Test one is conducted after the first month, Test two a month later and the Comprehensive at the end.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
