My father is an electrical engineer. So he prefers me to choose this course as he can help me in my study. Our department has 2 batches. In each batch, there are 60 students. Teacher Student ratio is 1:60. All the teachers are very good and all are highly qualified. Semester examination is held every six months. It's moderate.
Students become eligible for campus placement from the 7th semester. Near about 100 companies come with huge job offers. Approx All students get 3-4 lpa on average. Our department has a placement record of nearly 85-90%. I will go for govt jobs after getting a degree
It costs 82000 per year without a hostel. If you opt for a hostel then the hostel fee is 24000 per year. Some students also live in pg. PG facilities are available outside the campus. Students get different scholarships according to their results. I myself get a Swami Vivekananda scholarship from the government.
The annual tech fest is held in the month of March generally. Our college has a 3 stored library called Aryabhatta library. It has huge books and journal collections. Sports are held in the odd semester time. The college has an official media group called hitian inside.
From the 7-semester campus, placements start. CTS and TCS visit every year and the individual take a good number of percentage among the students. The highest package till now is 30L/ annum. Average package 2.5-3L/ annum. The placement of mother trades is poor in performance. Mainly IT personnel get placed easily.
The placements are excellent in our college. Around 90% of the students got placed last year. The highest package offered was 12 LPA, and the average package was around 3.75 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Wipro, TCS, and many more. Some of the students got selected as web developers, some as software engineers, and other students also got good roles.
JU has a wonderful placement record for students of the fourth year. The highest package is 42lpa while the average is 19 lpa.80% of students become eligible for placements. More than 150 companies visit the campus. While I plan to pursue an MBA degree by giving either CAT/GRE.
Before the placement statistics you have to Know one thing that is Calcutta University has started 4 year's BTech in 2015, before it, the University used to provide a Bsc BTech program for 80 years (approx). So, now you can imagine the alumni network and the reputation of this Institution in the corporate field. The average package is all around 5-6 LPA. I am giving you the placement statistics of my department that is Chemical Engineering. Among all Department in CU, Chemical Engineering Department has the highest placement statistics. About 90% of the batch is placed every year. The college is a 20 min walk from my home which saves my time and energy. I wouldn't be able to handle the harrasment of travelling everyday by public transport. It saves my time a lot which I put to use for other important stuff. Another reason is that my brother is an ex student of this college and he suggested it.
Placement is good. Nearly 80% students get placements in big name companies, to name a few would be Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, TCS. The training and placement cell grooms us from the very beginning day of college. It enrolls us in various competitions.
When I was in class 11 I want to become an engineer, which was my dream, my elder brother is an engineer ( recently working in TCS) he told me to prepare for Webjee and said that jadavpue university is one of the best college for engineering all over india, maximum student get placed and the salary package is also good. Except these JU provides a great quality teaching, the campus infrastructure and lab are very good. And the annual fees are just 10000 in 4 years, so it's a great opportunity for me cause my famit can't afford the huge amount for my study, for all the mentioned reason I joined in Jadavpur university.
JUME is one of the few colleges in India where after studying core mechanical engineering you can hope to get placed in a core mechanical engineering company, the profiles that the company offers although are mostly related to manufacturing services or states, The automobile companies mostly come with a sales services, production engineering related profile. Maruti Suzuki, Hero Motors, Bajaj, HPCP, vedanta, Reliance, Cummins, PWC, Musigma, capgemini etc, not all companies visit every year but most of them do. Almost 80 people from the department get placed.
Firstly for what i preferred this college than others is this is a smoke free campus. And also student teacher relationship is quite good here. The worst part of our college is the network connection here. It's really bad. We can't even load a link in our hostel premises.
