Remarks

The best highlights of the college is that there is zero tolerance policy for ragging. There is separate anti ragging committee who take care that no ragging take place in the campus of Don Bosco Institute of Technology.

Entrance Preview

JEE MAINS 102 HSC Maharashtra Board (PCM) 84 Composite Score 96.87 There was no such thing as interview during the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The planning of the course curriculum is very good. They take plenty of test and mock vivas to prepare students academically. They senior faculty members pioneers in research. Many thesis are published by them. Many professional seminars, webinars, thought exchange meets are frequently attended by the faculty.

Internships Opportunities

Yes our Don Bosco Institute of Technology do provide internship opportunities but only for the final the students. Companies like TCS, Wipro and Tata Consultancy Services came for internship in the end of the seventh semester.

Placement Experience

4

Accenture, Infosys, L&T InfoTech and Hexaware about 70% of the students generally fall under the "eligiblity criteria" which is usually a requirement of 60% marks or higher. Most of the eligible candidates are placed average salaries offered would be around Rs. 3 lac p.a.

College Events

2.5

The annual cultural festival of the college is called as "CreXtal" which stands for Creativity, Excellence and Talent. The inter-college technical festival organized by the college is called "Colosseum". However from 2009, "Colosseum" will be an intra-college festival. The college will be divided into 3 different houses where students will compete against each other representing their house. The winning house gets the DBIT Shield.

Fee Structure And Facilities

DBIT is a private-unaided institute Rs. 1,13,000/year for general category Rs. 62,000/year for OBCs No tuition fee for SC/ST/NT category. The tuition fees are very high but if u compare it with the teaching standard of some selected professors then they are worth it.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know about the scholarships as such as I am Open Category student at the Don Bosco Institute of Technology. Some of my best friends and seniors have availed some fee concession as they belong to reserved category and Economically Backward Classes.

Campus Life

2.5

There have been new malls which have come up in the vicinity which houses many franchisee outlets with the likes of KFC, MOD and McDonalds here, so enough places to hangout here . These malls have come as a big relief to students who earlier had no option but go to Ghatkopar or Chembur .

Hostel Facilities

4

There are few hostels near kurla. There is one good hostel near Matunga Railway station for girls which is better as compared to other hostels. Mess food is yuck the breakfast is served quite late and you would prefer starving or eating a wadapav instead

Alumni/Alumna

There are many famous alumini of our Don Bosco Institute of Technology. Most of them are doing good in their field. As far as seniors are concerned, they hardly take interest in the first year engineering students. They are busy on their submission, assignments and all those things.

Exam Structure

Exams are very frequent. It is like a military school. If you perform bad in these college test and weekly exams your term work marks get affected. The questions in the exams are very difficult as they are conceptual based and only the top level nerds and

Faculty

As far as the Mechanical Department is concerned, the college sucks big time. Only a few handful teachers actually know their subject. But the senior professors lectures are best u can get. One doesn't need to go to classes if u r lucky to be taught by th

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
