Remarks

The campus infrastructure is awesome and the campus is very big there is much building on campus all teachers and staff members are very supportive and friendly that is most liked in this college. Money value is fine to compare to other colleges. It's not much costly but the faculty and facilities are good. My hostel is life is very awesome and the behaviour of faculty members towards studies is good.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Software Engineering is a new course started 2-3 years ago, it's a very good course for CSE students. Nothing more to say. Teachers are very helpful and skilled. We are regularly having quiz and activities to keep ourselves busy even in the scenario of lockdown. IKGPTU is very serious about academics and hence it is going on smoothly.

Placement Experience

2.5

Around 50% of the students get placed from college. The lowest salary offered is Rs. 30,000 per month and the highest salary offered is more than Rs. 80,000 per month. I don't know much placement and internship from our college.

Fees and Financial Aid

Normally the college fees are 1 lakh but you can get a scholarship according to the jee main rank and the intermediate fee structure will be different from student to student. According to my, I'm paying 50000 per year because I got a 50% scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, our batch will have to continue the course on online mode. But our college organised amazing events throughout the year to encourage and attract the students. This helps us to develop our soft skills & chain knowledge outside our classroom.

Hostel Facilities

4

IKGPTU has an excellent hostel facility. The college has separate and secure residential facilities for both boys and girls. Accommodation at IKGPTU consists of 5 separate hostel blocks. It has good infrastructure which makes students feel comfortable and find a homely atmosphere. Proximity to the city means that the students are housed in a hostel that has a serene and calm atmosphere and yet has access to the city.

Interview Experience

3

According to my, there are no such programs held yet because of lockdown everything is going online even I'm a first-year student. It is a good college and everyone should try to enrol their course in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
