Entrance Preview

I gave COMEDK exam. I scored 12144 Rank and opted this college because it is very well known for study environment and infrastructure. Besides it is outside bangalore due to which hostel charges are very less.

Course Curriculum Overview

VTU course curriculam is followed which is very effective for overall knowledge build up. 1st year gives knowledge on all courses like - civil , mechanical electrical etc. 2nd year onwards particular department course is followed on which is completed by Project done in last semester.

Internships Opportunities

Only one comany came for internship that is Subex. I dont remember the stipend. None of the other companies were providing stipend.

Placement Experience

All mass hiring companies visit in the beginning like - TCS/Infosys , Accenture , Cognizent. Higher salary is offered by Subex , Manhattan Associates , Mercedes benz , Societe General , Microsoft , BEHL , Jindal , Volvo. Placement is 100% in all the departments.

College Events

Annual PESCE fest is celebrated at a huge level and budget. Many cultural activities are performed including dance music , drama etc. 1 week event goes on with 3 days final celebration. Yearly 2 times ethnic day is organised and department wise fest and occasinal events and quiz are carried upon which is quiet fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

In Karnataka fee structure is expensive. It was 1.25 lakhs in 2007 -2011. Now its around 1.50 lakhs and hostel charges are less. Its very expensive for average earning family. But hostel food is below average specially for north indians.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life - Awesome , col campus , games , events , indoor stadium , outdoor stadium , cricket ground , basket ball , volley ball court . Best infra in karnataka for sports.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel Facilities were good. Warden of girls hostel is good. Boys hostel warned was not so good . Food is below average. Some times you can cook food in your hostel room on taking warden permission. Electrical equipments are allowed. Sunday day meal is good compared to other days.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Exam Structure

Labs were 2-3 times in a week. Exams were in every 2 months. Final Semester exams were after every 5 months followed by 1 month vacation. It was not hectic. In vtu system , labs are hectic as step by step marking is not done on programs executed . Either you pass or you fail, there is no mid way to get average marks in lab.

Faculty

3.5

Good knowledge and adhere experience in teaching dept. All the faculty had masters degree and are very regular and approachable. College is very well known for mechanical and automobile department. Computer Science and Information Science is also very good.

Good Infrastructure and Career Opportunities

Likes

Yes the first thing I liked is the campus and the environment there is no harrasment and strict action will be taken.
And second thing is faculty members are so helpful and they always help to students and different festival
And also the campus provide all facilities and make helps to sports and ration is almost equal of boys and girls

Dislikes

Yes some things are there which I disliked first is the campus is very strict and no function are organised yearly ones or twice is very sad thing as compared to other campus
Second thing is food students facing some problem with the food which hear prepared so outsiders facing lot of problems
Third is about hostel facility is good but very strict only once a week the students should go out side and write leave letter to go there native places.

Placement Experience:

Students got opportunity to eligible after 3rd year mainly in 7th semester students get opportunity for campus interview. In my college the company which came to hire is congizent and microsoft and amezon and dell nearly 80 to 90 company are came. The company offers is highest is 40 lack per annum which google provide and minimum is 4lack . Mainly 80 percent of the students are placed every year but due to war happened in the global impact in placement I want to do masters in abroad and then go to the company

Likes

very first thing i like in the college is the wifi network,
the library which is very peace and silent
average places to take photos and nearby there is nandi hills to visit

Dislikes

i dislike the distance of the college, its too large, should walk soo much
the cost of stationaries in the general store
i dont think so faculy are that much expertise , only countable people worth it

Course Curriculum Overview:

see i have choosed this course because it is very relatable to CSE, coz my ranking was not sufficient to get this course. the course which i took "Information Science and Engineering" is really a good course. they make us real world engineers. the area they shld actually improve is, hiring worthable faculty.

Campus is good and mainly located near Whitefield.
too good supportive professor. Staff are too chill. Some staff are like our bestfriend's.
Lab equipment are good . You are not facing any issue with pc.. it's good

Dislikes

There is only few events in a year. I think only 3 events.
Hostel building is too bad. And hostel food is too bad.
There is no field to play games like cricket, football.

Placement Experience:

After 8 sems we are eligible for placements. TCS ,Dell and many companies visited mvj. Highest package of mvj was 22lakhs per annum. Basically some companies ask CGPA at above 8. My plan is a developer after my engineering in python language or Else I will continue my dad business

Insights of the Gopalan college of engineering and Management by a First Year Student

Likes

Canteen is fine has nice and tasty food and quite a lot of options
Library is also good has every book related to my course and few others as well
Lab facilities are also very nice and the college has a nice crowd

Dislikes

It's nothing like I expected, they don't let students use the ground or turfs. Facilities are pretty bad.
They charge money for everything and has zero facilities for college students. Everything is for there school students.
College is very small and the faculties are rude to students. (Mostly the case)

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for placements from there 7th semester but I wouldn't recommend relying on college for placements. Not many companies come to this college so placements are really bad. If u have skills it would be better to apply to companies on your own. I don't have details on how many students gets placed but as much as I know it's about 30-50 % And average package is also very low. I plan of gaining skills and certification on my own and job hunting myself in 4th year through my connections and internships. Or maybe go abroad for masters As I'm a first year student I don't know much about which companies come and how much they offer.

We have a temporary campus .which was taken as rent in goverment engeneering college raichur .and permanent campus was yet to finish by the time juniors come the permanent campus will be getting finished.just needed the proper campus no improvments
The campus life was not as expected by a student because here the cluns are not very active like in any other colleges , u can enjot a lot with your friends in your hostel.
Every branch has a faculty adviser we can meet them and discuss our problems with them .the faculry were very good they were well experienced ,they teach in general way as any teacher does on a digital board.

Dislikes

The placement cell is not that good , the students were not getting places for good amount of package as expected .
The labs were not well maintained that should be resolved that is the main problem in this college as well as library we have a very small library which is in a size of a regular class
Hostel was not within the campus which makes some difficulty to walk through the streets with roaming buses and cars and bikes , in our college boy girl ration was very less it is 1: 7 like that.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students are eligible for taking interships and they get placed in 7th semester and have to leave campus after 8th semester the highest would somewhere aroubd 20 lpa and avg would be 9 to 10 lpa . I plan to do Mtech in any reputed college by writing gate . The percentage of studebts getting placed are 70 %
