PSIT Kanpur, B.Tech, Mechanical Engineering

Reviewed on Feb 18, 2021(Enrolled 2016)

Remarks

PSIT has a quite good campus spreading across 80 acres, with an extraordinary infrastructure you would rarely see. It has air-conditioned classrooms which even colleges like AKGIT dont have. It has a fleet of approx 25 AC buses covering all the parts of Kanpur. The hostels are clean and well maintained with both AC and Non-AC facilities. The faculties are cordial and they will cross the lines to help you in every way possible. Many faculties are well qualified having a PhD degree, some with a Mtech and some Btech too. It is quite a good college especially for Computer Science as there is a sharp increase in the coding culture. In my batch, 18 students bagged an offer worth 8 LPA due to this.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose Mechanical Engineering because I love machines and I love to know about machines. The faculty here in PSIT are very well educated and well trained. They are very cooperative with every student. There methods of teaching are also very good.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 140000 per year

Placement Experience

4.5

Talking about placement,it is much better than other private colleges of UP.Companies like Infosys,Wipro,Tech-Mahindra,Capgemini,IBM,LAVA,Indian Army,Indian Navy,Wabag and many other recruits the students from final year. But most of this companies are from IT/Service sectors which is good for students of CS,IT & EC departments. This companies also pick some of the students from core department.

College Events

The life is not easy. Only thing you can do is to study hard. Annual fest 'Ignitia' can refresh you but not for long time. Most of time we are busy. I haven't even joined any club because we actually don't get time. It's come, study, talk with friends in interval, go home and again study. One thing that I want to say that I met many good people here. So, though we say our college is strict and all but we have good company and an aim for our dreams to work hard.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The tution fees here at PSIT is 140000 per annum. The college also provides scholarship to the students with weak financial background. College also helps in reducing the fees of extremely poor students. The stipend of every job which a student gets is from 20K to 30 K.

Hostel Facilities

The beauty of BHU

Likes

The things I liked about the college are the faculty and the professors. They are very cooperative and helpful.
The campus life is quite beautiful here, campus is very close to nature and you can get fresh air. Also the infrastructure is on the top they have all the facilities which are required.
There is an active placement cell in the campus which usually provide in campus placement to students according to their concerned departments.

Dislikes

Some of the things which i think should need to be improved are the classrooms and canteens.
Also I think there is need of improvement in placement cells fir humanities students.
For library I would also say there needs an improvement because they have less capacity in comparison with number of students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is very relevant. I took admission in pg diploma in guidance and counselling which is a one year diploma course. I was inspired to do this course specially because it can provide you placement for sure. After this you can apply as a counsellor in any academic setting or NGOs.The teaching method of professors is quite good. They almost cover the entire syllabus before exams

Overall Feedback for College - Admission , Placement , Course , Faculty , Events

Likes

the security is nice at my college like proper cctv and guards , apart from that labs , and my dept is too good. Ac classroom and labs
They have provided average placement like most of companies are mass hiring like tcs and accenture ..and only few companies come to offer big package
Infrastructure is good but there is need of reconstruction at some places the water is ticking in rain season continuously, and curriculum is okay okay not that much relevant to industry , they taught text books rather than the real practical cases

Dislikes

The examination checking - the student who is cr or having any relation with teachers got highest marks without writing the answer properly
The food canteen first of all the canteen is off from the past 1 or 2 year and now it reopen but it sells dirty food , waste foods
The college professor support , they are not that much supportive

Course Curriculum Overview:

coding I am interested in coding that why I offer this course It provide some courses but not all courses are related to real world they have to use practical examples and make students aware of the real industry According to me the time and frequency is okay of exam

My geart government college

Likes

If I talk about my college that i appreciate is the best part of environment very much good and more than best other government colleges in mzn
Our campus life is okay okay!! Cause I'm not that part of campus life. So I don't enjoy that part of my college.
I truly talking about faculty's it is genuine with us . And teaching methods is best every teachers always the right time in the classroom.

Dislikes

No more provided placements in our college cause it is a government. But always support teachers for providing for career development.
It's a properly government college. So more more facilities in our college and campus life other students who studied about coursees.
I did completed Bachelors of commerce in our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Ok, if I talk about my course, I have done B.Com from there and B.Com is a very good level course. It means there is a degree in it and I had to prepare for government job and from the beginning I had taken commerce in 11th class, so I found B.Com very suitable for me and as far as exams are concerned, B.Com means good study. Our college used to teach us very well, so I had also taken tuitions together, so it was quite good. My experience means it did not seem so difficult. I found it very difficult, I used to get very good exams and I cleared it very well without any back.

the only reason i choose this college was because i availed fee wavier and our financial condition was not so good back then. I failed to score good marks in JEE advanced or else i would've enrolled in some iit. The college does try to match its pace with tier 1 colleges but there's a lot more to be done. The college has direct as well as counselling based admission. Direct admission include a test and interview while counselling is done on the basis of competitive exam score...Read More
