Remarks

The university has all the facilities that any good university should, good faculty, excellent infrastructure, etc. But the management is very poor and hence the students have to suffer a bit.

Entrance Preview

I took the Assam University entrance exam and was ranked in top 10. It is a central university located near my home so I opt for this university.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was fairly updated and provided all the required knowledge for the subjects that I opted for. But they did not offered any flexibility like choice-based credit.

Internships Opportunities

No form of any internship is offered.

Placement Experience

1

Placement & job opportunities are very limited and only a handful of recruiters visit the campus.

College Events

3.5

The annual sports & cultural festival is celebrated in end January which is a big attraction for all the students and the festival is organised by an elected students' body. Apart from this other functions like Independence Day, Teacher's Day, Republic Day & Saraswati Puja are also celebrated with great enthusiasm. The fresher's social and farewell ceremony are other major attractions. Some departments also organised their own annual festivals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a centrally funded university, the fees are quite nominal and the expenses are more than justified provided the infrastructure that is offered against the fees charged.

Fees and Financial Aid

No such facility is offered by the university though merit-cum-means scholarships are offered by the state govt.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is quite vibrant with great gender ratio as well as diversity. But being far from the city and due to lack of good transport facilities, it is troublesome to get essential supplies. Plenty of opportunities to pursue extracurricular, sports, hobby and other activities. Tech competitions, quiz and debate competitions, photography competitions & workshops are organised quite regularly.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities are quite decent but there is a huge shortage of hostel seats, especially for male students. Mess services are very poorly managed and the quality of food is utterly disgusting.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very weak or rather non-existant. But some departments have their own alumni networks which are fairly active and alumni meets are organised annually. But overall no such meet is organised by the university as a whole.

Exam Structure

The exam structure was quite decent and flexible with 20% weight-age on overall class performance and 80% on end semester examination.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty was truly one of the best with good research background as well as international exposure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course i.e. department of Botany because the department ensuring a strong theoretical foundations along with the practical experience. The course prepares well for students as the acedemic results is always good which will make gratutides well equipped for jobs. Some sections of the course should be updated to meet the latest technology, more guests lectures and the interships should be provided to the students. The exams clustering of multiple exams should be within times which relases unneccsary stress, the exams are conducted easy to insane which is very challenging for the students.
