Remarks

TIET is a great college. If you ask me what do I expect from the college, I would say, to provide me a platform where I could grow and learn and obviously help me to get an amazing job. As far as I have learned Thapar's placement record is good but in the end, it all depends on us how we utilize our time. It has an amazing campus and I can guarantee that you will have your best hostel life here. I know faculty is really qualified but they should be trained to make lectures interesting especially when we all are struck with online classes. Coming to the admission process it was very simple I just needed to fill the form wait for the shortlisting process and pay the fees. This time the admissions were based on board results and the tiebreaker being jee score. Dates are a bit early than another college. I was really impressed by the infrastructure, campus life, and placements. I used various platforms such as youtube, quora, and thapar website while I was selecting this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose BE- Computer Engineering because I was interested in computer science only and it has the same curriculum as the computer science branch but it is NAAC 'A+' credited and has amazing placement records and choosing this I also have the options of taking electives in 3rd year which is not the part of computer science branch which was started by the college in 2019. More than 70% of the faculty here is Ph.D. faculty: student ratio is approximately one is to two hundred and fifty (1:250) and they are highly qualified with various latest technology to help them deliver the best. Semester exams are well planned each semester has sessional, Mid-semester exams, and End semester exam whose dates are given to the students at the start of the semester and we are given 7 days reading the week before Mid-semester and End Semester Exams but this time everything is a mess because of the online semester. It is very easy to pass and mention a good cgpa here.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

There are various companies that offer internships like Samsung, Microsoft, Google, etc. You can grab the internship even in our first year if you want there is edc event that helps you do so. I think no one should be dependent on college for building up the resume and everyone should try their best to build the projects based on their skills

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are amazing .300+ companies visit the campus. Third-year we all are required to do the internships which may lead to pre-placement offers. The highest offer was 39.00,000 by Microsoft not so sure and the average is 7-10 lac. The percentage is 95%. I plan to grab the best job possible

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are very high. The full curriculum is given by the institute beforehand. Speaking of hike thapar is increasing the fees every year but the good thing is that it offers various scholarships and Financial Assistance. A huge number of scholarships are given which can be checked on their websites

Campus Life

5

The best part of being in college is that you get to enjoy college life. College life is amazing with 250 acres campus and the best infrastructure. Living in the hostel is amazing. It is a six-floor automated library, 8 hostels and more are in the construction process. There are 53 societies and clubs. Fests are awesome! The library is fully automated and books are available all the time. Classrooms are awesome and have the best infrastructure and technology to facilitate the learning experience of the students. Sports facilities are top-notch and there are lots going on the campus every time

Hostel Facilities

5

I had the amazing hostel N which is generally given to 3 rd and 4th-year students but our first years got lucky I could not have asked for the better hostel. Food, room, gym, canteen, cleanliness, staff everything about it was wonderful. The menu is very properly set. I had to give 20,000 for 2 months for stay and 11,000 for mess but it was worth it. The registration process for through online forms and we needed to select the hostel among pg and N. We were given the hostel according to merit-based on board exams since very one choose hostel N obviously

Other Applied Colleges

VIT | Computer Science

Because it is very far from my home and I got cs 4th category.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
