Remarks

PROS : The college has a very good infrastructure, good teacher's. Students come from various states so, a mixed culture you get to see. CONS: The only thing not good is its away from city about 12 km away from city. So if you want to buy anything you may face certain problems. But yes many things are available inside the campus there is a cafeteria where almost all things are available and a hdfc bank and ATM also and that's a great thing. ADMISSION PROCESS : Admission process for me was as easy because I got it through direct counselling round. So, I just submitted my marks and by the end of week 'Seat allotment letter' came. REASON FOR PREFERRING: It has no- ragging. The College has about 100 acres of beautiful campus. NAME OF FORUM : YouTube channel

Course Curriculum Overview

Engineering was a dream for me and when I got Ece branch here I make sure to get admission in it. Faculty :Student ratio is 1:60 but it may vary to some of the other curses in our college. Faculties are Ph.D. and good but not enough some are much good. Overall it gives more than the average quality faculties.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 80750 per year

Placement Experience

Many companies like Tcs, Wipro, Capgemini, IBM, Airtel, tech Mahindra, axis Bank, etc visit this college for placement. Highest placement is 12 LPA and the average is 3.5 LPA . Placements are improving especially this year the placement were good. Since, B.tech came here a 4-5 years ago. So, being new it is taking time to make name in list of reputed colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Like other state government colleges it also have same fee. I was not eligible for any scholarship here and hence my fees here is 76,500. The amount may be less for you if you got some scholarship here. And it does not include the hostel fee. Hostel fee has two submission. One for room(21,000/year) and the other one for mess(30,000/year). So, the total hostel fee is 51,000.

Campus Life

Campus life is really good many events are organized every year Tech-fest ,Lohri festival, Saraswati Pooja, Fresher party and alumni meet. NCC and NSS and many more events are organized. Library is good but according to me the books are little less. Still the library too good. I love to visit there. Classroom are also good. Sports and extra curricular activities are also good here.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are good but the meal quality is too bad .Here you get one attached washroom, One almirah and balcony. Registration process for hostel is easy , you just have to pay the fee and fill a form you will get the hostel.

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

The curriculum is relevant and covers core cse subjects like programing DSA and DBMS . it provides good fundamental for placements and further studies , more practical projects and industry based teaching would improve it .

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Good inetrship provided in any college for students

First of all i went to LPU which is no 1 in punjab ranking, when i visited it my experience was very good and placement was also good but the fees structure of every course was very high like if i talk about BCA then its fee was 180000 which was not right for me, so i did not take admission in LPU but the college was very good and i also went to geeta university in a panipat and no one knowledge about that college because it was in a remote area and the students there also explained to me that either do not take admission or you will have to pay fine after fine, this college is not good, so i dod not take admission there i did not take it and then i looked at IKGPTU where i am currentlu studying it was a budget college and not to far from my home and the course fees were also reasonnable, so i took admission...Read More
