Remarks

I had applied to many colleges, but I chose to study at RCCIIT, KOLKATA because the faculties are very talented here. As this college is located in a metropolitan city, We have many opportunities like we can prepare well for other exams like GATE, ESE, UPSC, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

There are 5 courses in engineering, and other than MCA, BCA courses are also available in this college. I choose the ECE department, because It has a lot of benefits, as we know that in the ESE exam only core Branch aspirants can appear, So that's the reason to choose the ECE department. Faculties are very well qualified, talented, and supportive. I think in this college other more departments of the core should be included. Each semester completes in 6 months. Within 6 months 2 internal exams take place.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 90000 per year

Internships Opportunities

4.5

There are a lot of opportunities for us, we get a chance for internships in MNC like TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, etc. There are a lot of opportunities for us to projects from MNCs. Students have got so many projects on management, coding, artificial intelligence, etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. About 75% of students get placements in our college and the average package is 4 lakh per annum. The highest package is 8 lakh per annum. A no. of MNC came to visit our college and students get placements in that company like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, etc. About 25-30% of students also get internships in that companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are 90k per year. There are a lot of opportunities for scholarships for engineering students. Students use to apply at the national level as well as state-level scholarship. According to their merits or certificate verification, they get it successfully. The average package of our department is about 4 lakh per annum. Most of the students appear in GATE exams and go for higher education.

Campus Life

4.5

Regalia is an annual fest, it is the biggest celebration of music, art, and dance. It is the place where talent meets creativity and recognition is rewarded. There are uncountable books in our library. There are so many extra activities take place e.g. sports games, exhibitions of new technology. There is a lot of clubs or website which are run by a group of students of our college, for coding, there is coding club. For games, there is a sports club.

Likes

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Likes

The discipline is followed very strictly. Also you have access to library which is good, teachers are helpful and no ragging policy which is strictly followed and has a decent environment.
Thery conduct seminars which encourages students. Many faculty members are knowledgeable experienced in their respective subjects and helpful willing to solve doubts beyond the classroom also.
The college has decent infrastucture including classrooms, labs and library .

Dislikes

While the curriculum is decent ,it lacks sufficeint practical implementation.More hands on projects, real world application and industry exposure would improve learning significantly.
Campus life can sometimes fell limited in terms of active student interaction.Opportunites for clubs, networking and collaborative activities could be improved.
The college comes under St tHomas School so the campus is not great it is compact and has a canteen.

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Techno provides decent campus placements according to your marks. Good marks also with skills get you better salary. Minimum 7.5 cgpa is mandatory to have you sit for campus placements. The lowest package is 3.4 LPA and highest vary but students also get 14LPA easily. Wipro, tcs ,cap ,gemini, amazon , ibm etc.

I choosed this college because it is autonomous and government run by the State of West Bengal and is affordable and also has good accessability with satisfactory placement report . Yes i got rejection from some other colleges ,i didnt make it due to my WBJEE rank being not any good .My score was below their cutoff You can join RCCIIT by WBJEE counselling through your JEE or WBJEE scores .Almost 80% students are inducted through WBJEE and 20% is left for JEE students .College has no management quota .The cutoff for WBJEE for RCCIIT starts from 10,000 for CSE and runs upto 90,000 for Electrical Engineering...Read More
