UPES, B.Tech {Hons.}, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning

Reviewed on Jun 3, 2021(Enrolled 2019)

Remarks

VIT Vellore and I did not get a good rank in the exam so I can't able to get the course which I wanted. No, I did not apply for any quota. Minimum marks should be 85 percent in class 12 and in the exam which VIT Vellore take we should get a rank under 5000. As I did not take admission so I don't know the process of admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

As I have a lot of pf interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and it also has a lot of future. The faculty is good and very supportive and they also help us in many of our projects and we can also help the faculties in their projects and the student ratio is 2:1. The exam held on time as given in the academic calendar and if you studied well and listen to the lecture and made notes while teachers are teaching then it is so easy to pass.

Class Size: 48Course Fees: INR 180000 per year

Internships Opportunities

I did not know about it as I had not done any intern yet from college and I also don't know the companies which and came. many teachers have made many projects and our college has made a sanitizing robot.

Placement Experience

from 8 semester student are eligible for campus placements. companies visited are Xebia, Wipro, Amazon, Infosys and many more. The highest package last to last year was 45 lacks an average package is 10-15 lacks. 94 percent of students are placed. if I get good jobs with a good amount of package then I will do jobs otherwise I will do MTech and prepare for the GATE exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

girl child scholarships. merit based scholarships. if you are a Uttarakhand student then also a kind of scholarship. 95 above percentile in JEE mains. currently, I am in 2nd year so I did not get any job or internship yet. the cost for study in UPES is different for every course.

Campus Life

urjaa is our annual fest and it is conducted in the month of November and tech fest id ignite which held in the month of January. All types of books and journals are available in our library and we have a soft copy of the books too but some books have a quantity limit. the classroom has a good quality chair table and a projector and the attendance is taken through biometrics. there are lots of extra activities in college and we have different kind of student chapters and teams for different types of sports and we a Lazarus for singing and dancing and for technical we have ACM and CSI student chapter and for social work, we have CSR and NSS

Hostel Facilities

good space in the room for keeping our material it has triple sharing room we three single beds,3 study table and chair and 1 balcony with good number lights and it provide curtains too. The quality of the meal is too good that I never leave my meal for a day. we have to register it as soon as possible because it has a limited number of beds and it follows the first come first serve method. I don,t know as I always live in a campus hostel

Hostel Fee: INR 156000 per year

Other Applied Colleges

VIT Vellore | Btech CSE

The rank I got in the exam for the course is too high as I can't get the course which I wanted

A Well-Rounded B.Tech Journey with Good Infrastructure, Supportive Faculty, and Growing Career Opportunities

Likes

Faculty members are generally qualified and approachable, and students can seek help with academics and projects.
students should supplement the university curriculum with industry certifications, coding practice, internships, GitHub projects and real-world development work.
There are cultural events, technical activities, clubs, sports and other extracurricular activities. Hostel students can participate fairly actively in campus events.

Dislikes

The main improvement I'd look for would be more advanced, industry-standard laboratory equipment and greater practical exposure.
I couldn't find a reliable current official university figure for the overall girls-to-boys ratio.
The ratio can also differ substantially between CSE, other engineering branches and the university as a whole.

Placement Experience:

Haridwar University provides regular campus-placement opportunities across IT, core engineering and other sectors. The university reports strong overall placement activity, but programme-wise salary and placement data are limited publicly, so students should ask for CSE-specific statistics before admission.

I like the college curriculum and study materials and teaching style of the teachers . Some teachers are impressive and their teaching style is too good .
Campus life is not much engaging but we usually spent our time in studying only . Also for attendance there is not much more criteria but some teachers are very strict in taking the attendance.
Faculties are full of experience and knowledge. They are approachable online and offline too but after the class.

Dislikes

I don't like the placement system in my college because the students studying in 2nd year do not get any exposure of placement . There is placement cell in our college but not very active .
Infrastructure is good but it should be spread in a more big acres . My wish was to get into IIT Kharagpur that's why I am asking for big campus .
Overall curriculum and research based approach of the campus is good. They just give projects to the seniors and seniors work is to dictate us about the project and helps us in building different types of project.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main aspects that motivates me to choose this college is the GFTI'S colleges . Because my father suggest me that govt. Colleges seeks more companies that's why I choose this college . But truth is totally opposite from the reality. Real world application based projects is just given by the teachers in every semester but we students copy it and give it to them from the gpt. College timing should be more less we have to study from 10 am to 5 p.m. Timings of exams are of 3 hrs only in semester . Difficulty level is moderate.

Graduation- Best time of life.

Likes

The campus of the university is beyond beautiful and homely. Participation in college and university societies paves way for an all rounder development of the students. Facilities like CCF internet facility) is quite commendable.
Good Placements offered also encourage better future prospects. The library of the university is next level. Kisan mela held two times a year feels like another celebration for the university people.
Events held in the university with amazing artists offer exposure as well as a unique way to keep the entertainment alive amongst the youth.e

Dislikes

The hostel rules were rigid especially the entry timings of the girls hostel. The rigidity to take leave by getting it signed by various officials first had been an issue. Although, this was when i was graduating, things might have changed by now.
The stringent hostel rules were quite difficult to cope with. The strict checking at the university gates though might seem good as per the security but seem harsh sometimes.
Teaching methods could be made more progressive and technical with time paving way for more practical knowledge. Infrastructure could also be given a push.

Placement Experience:

In final year of btech companies start coming. Maximum students of CSE and IT get placed. Package is min. 3.2Lacs CTC. Both mass recruiters and startups take part in the placement drive. A good number of students get placed. But maximum students of our college opt for higher studies like appearing for GATE, GRE, CAT exams. Further students indulge in preparation for govt services like UPSC, Defence.
