Likes
- I like the college curriculum and study materials and teaching style of the teachers . Some teachers are impressive and their teaching style is too good .
- Campus life is not much engaging but we usually spent our time in studying only . Also for attendance there is not much more criteria but some teachers are very strict in taking the attendance.
- Faculties are full of experience and knowledge. They are approachable online and offline too but after the class.
Dislikes
- I don't like the placement system in my college because the students studying in 2nd year do not get any exposure of placement . There is placement cell in our college but not very active .
- Infrastructure is good but it should be spread in a more big acres . My wish was to get into IIT Kharagpur that's why I am asking for big campus .
- Overall curriculum and research based approach of the campus is good. They just give projects to the seniors and seniors work is to dictate us about the project and helps us in building different types of project.
Course Curriculum Overview
The main aspects that motivates me to choose this college is the GFTI'S colleges . Because my father suggest me that govt. Colleges seeks more companies that's why I choose this college . But truth is totally opposite from the reality. Real world application based projects is just given by the teachers in every semester but we students copy it and give it to them from the gpt. College timing should be more less we have to study from 10 am to 5 p.m. Timings of exams are of 3 hrs only in semester . Difficulty level is moderate.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fees taken by the college is 800000 in a 4 years . Tuition fees is taken by college is 500000. And rest money is taken by hostel and mess fees for 4 years which is approx 3 lakhs rupees which add upto 8 lakhs for a student in this college . Fees are same for all categories of students . No scholarship is provided by the college .
Campus Life
Annual fest name is JANAGANI here which helds in the month of December and February every year. In this college each and every events and fest are organised by the students itself . Financially college never helped . Books and journals are easily accessible . All books related to our curriculum is there and for research purpose there is the central library in our University. Sports facilities are also there with a stadium in our college . Students run societies are like Microsoft club, MLSA Club, GDSC club, gfg college group etc.
Hostel Facilities
Room facilities are there with all the necessary items like bed, table, matresses, fan, almirah, balcony, water purifier etc. Meal quality is good and hygienic but sometimes I don't want to eat the food because of its bad smell and repeated food vegetables . Also they cook lauki ki sabji which is worst there. Registration form is given by the warden and you have to just fill it and paste your photo there and visit the room that you want after that you will have to pay fees of the 1st year then they give you the room . In 1st year hostel is good but after that we must find some PGS and hostels nearby . Some hostels like ashirwad hostel is famous here .
Admission
I have applied for other colleges too but in the csab round I got this college and CSE branch because of which I choose this college. Yes I get rejection from all the lower branch iits and nits but I always want a govt. College with CSE branch that's why I choose gkv haridwar as my first priority. Admission is taken here through the jee mains percentile based on your percentile you get the branch . Direct admission is also taken through the website but you must have given the jee mains exam .
Faculty
Faculty to students ratio is average because one teacher is there for 80 students and they distributed the section into three class i.e. A, B and C . Teachers I like most is Nishant Munjal Sir because he has good sense of humours and teaching with examples is his first priority . All teachers are good in my semester but one of the teacher was not good in 1st semester . His name is Prateek sir. He has all his skill with him but he doesn't know how to use it . His teaching skills is not so good . Sessional exams and semester exams are taken in the college . Exams level are not so difficult as we can crack just by studying PYQs of the particular subject .
Night Life
Gym are open everyday and everytime because we have open gym in our campus and university. Cafeterias gets closed by 10 p.m. Library gets closed by 5 p.m Famous hangout places are like bhadrabad where we used to eat chaat and other nightout safe locality is the university campus only.
