Remarks
I choose Daulat Ram College, Delhi University because it is one of the best colleges of not only DU but one of the best colleges in India. The admission was merit based so I had no problem getting into the college. The cut off percentage was 95.75% The merits of this college are as follows: 1. The teachers here are very helpful and encouraging. 2. The infrastructure of the college is very fascinating. 3. The commerce faculty of the college is very good. 4. The college provides us with many opportunities via different societies, clubs and cells to interact with different people. 5. The college and the fests of my college grabs the attention of the whole city. The demerits of the college are as follows: 1. The attendance requirement of the college is very high. 2. The teachers are a bit strict. 3. Some seniors don't cooperate 4. It's not a co-ed college
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose B.Com Hons. because I'm a student of commerce background and I have a deep interest in this field. Choosing B.com Hons. at this level would surely do me good in future. There are 3-4 teachers for 168 students.
Internships Opportunities
The college placement cell provides internships opportunities for 2nd year student and enhances leadership abilities. The college Placement cell also coordinates with the central placement cell of Delhi University, which acts as an interface between industry and University by creating a database of eligible candidates as well as companies. Many of our students were recruited on Campus by Smart cube, Capital IQ, Ernest & Young, KPMG, Wipro, Genpact, ICIC Prudential, HDFC Life, among the other organizations. Selected students are awarded the Gandhi Fellowship for two years.
Placement Experience
The placement percentage of the college is around 94%. The average salary package offered for freshers is 1.5 LPA. The highest salary package offered can be up to 4 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is around 1 LPA. All interested students get internships in various research laboratories, diagnostic companies, food and water industries and also in various biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Some of the top recruiting companies include Medreich, Indoco, BCIL, Suraksha Diagnostic, Lal Pathlabs, various CSIR and DBT research institutes all over India, Biocon, etc. Top roles are mostly offered in the research and development wing of industries and PhD supervisor, principal investigator, quality control, clinical analysis, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee of my college is not high because it's a government college and the whole of the fundings are received by the government as it's a government college. The fee for 1 semester is around 8,000 and the fee for the whole year is around 16,000. The fees for the whole course is around 48,000. There is some reduction in the fees for the weaker section of the society. The reserved category of students enjoys some of the benefits.
Campus Life
MANJARI is the annual national level cultural fest organized by Daulatram College. It is an exciting college fest that is sponsored by popular brands such as Jet Airways and Skybags. It hosts a wide variety of events such as treasure hunts, music shows, concerts and dance performances. It is a 3 days college festival and is generally celebrated in the month of January. The different societies and clubs help us to build our personality and give us many opportunities to work and help us to know our interest areas.
