Remarks

I applied for the B.com Hons course in Daulat Ram College in the 4th cut-off list of DU, the entire process of admission was quite smooth and easy though it was entirely online (2020). Everything from counseling to college selection took place online, I got admission to various other DU colleges but from the lot, DRC was the best being a North campus college and very well known and reputed too. One has to fill lots of forms and have their documents prepared beforehand to book their seat in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I had commerce in class 11th and 12th class so I wanted to pursue the Commerce field and I also personally had an interest in Accountancy and Business Studies subject so that's why I opted for Bcom Hons. The teachers are highly professional and knowledgeable, though the teaching method differs from online method. We have around 50 students in each class. We have regular tests and practicals which are quite easy to attempt. Since everything is online, teachers do emphasize attendance and internals. In short DRC faculty is quite friendly, supportive, and approachable.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for Bcom Hons Course for DRC is around 16800Rs, which is quite affordable and decent enough for a North Campus college. There are scholarship facilities and College provides financial assistance to the needy ones too. One can visit the DRC website or DU website to know more about scholarships and Financial Assistance. We get a lot of opportunities for internships both paid and non-paid as well.

Campus Life

4

Our college structure is really old but it's huge and there is a lot of greenery as well. There are various societies and most of them are really active as well. Right now since everything is online still, the societies are actually very active. I have heard that the college library posses a huge collection of books, novels, and journals. The college has a huge auditorium and an on-campus bank too for the students. There are various clubs and workshops which are conducted regularly both by the teachers as well as the students.

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.
