Remarks
The reason I chose Sandip University because with my marks that was the best university I was getting in Maharashtra. Which is actually great as it is the top university in Nashik. I heard that the university was awarded the third among the newly emergent universities across India. As far as I remember, the eligibility criteria was pretty basic - I had to pass 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with other Science subjects. I the requirement for my year was to get at least 45% marks in the above subjects taken together. I had to fill in and submit the application form online and then upload the softcopies of required mark sheets and recent color passport size photograph and pay the nominal admission fees of a 1000 rupees.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our course is a comprehensive and industry-oriented civil engineering course and the curriculum has been set based on industry requirement to help us become employable after completion of the course. We get to use latest tools in the laboratories as a part of the educational programme. We have well-qualified faculty members who are alumni of IITs and IIMs from across the country. The teacher-student ratio is very good too.
Placement Experience
I think I saw a lot of big companies in the placement drive last time like Amazon, Godrej, Sun Pharma and so on. But the top recruiters from my department are Afcons Infrastructure Limited, Akme Projects Ltd., Bridge & Roof Co. Ltd. and so on. They are the best civil engineering companies in India and I heard that a lot of my seniors got to intern with them as well. The packages we get are pretty good too. The highest from my university this year was 12 lakh per annum and almost everybody gets a package above 3 LPA.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee for the entire fur years is a little less than 5 lakh rupees I think. I would say this is on the lower side for a private engineering university. I do not get any scholarships but my friend get a merit cum means from the state. I think that information is available from the university office.
Campus Life
I have a really amazing time in campus. My friends and I use the sporting equipment and courts to the best of our availabilities and our campus is really green and beautiful too. Events and fests have been suspended for some time because of the pandemic but that is a really safe measure I think. I do remember that we had a lot of seminars and such during my first year.
