Remarks
Daulat Ram College is one of the best colleges of DU, the entire process of admission during the pandemic took place online through the DU Portal, it was quite simple since one had to apply when he/she qualifies under the cut-off. To take admission in Daulat Ram College one has to score a minimum of 90% and to take admission in courses like Bcom Hons and Economics one must score 95% above. Since everything was online our counseling also took place online, though I took admission in the general category there are various quotas for the students and comparatively, they have a low cutoff in comparison to general category students.
Course Curriculum Overview
I always wanted to pursue a commerce stream thats why I opted for Bcom Hons in the Daulat Ram College. The commerce faculty of the college is good and professional, the teaching method varies from teacher to teacher over online mode. But the professors make sure to take reviews of the students and conducts doubt lectures as well. In the online mode, we had our internals conducted which were quite easy to attempt if one had attended all the online lectures.
Internships Opportunities
One gets various opportunities for internships from the first year itself both from the college as well the online through sites like Internshala, though in the first year majorly its non paid and from the second year it starts getting paid but one will have thousands of opportunities for internships. There are various departments that one can apply in for eg. Content writting, HR, Marketing. It also helps to explore one's interests as well.
Placement Experience
Yes DRC provided placement for which they have set up a Placement Cell. Top companies like Delloite, Wipro and HUL and other such companies come for placements. College provides vast opportunities for internships to first year students and from 2nd year onwards the the training for placement begins. The cell also helps in building and preparation of CV and resume. The average package ranges from 4-6 lacs but the highest package till now has been 32lacs.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college fees for BCom hons course is around rs.16000 which is quite apt being a DU college and moreover a North campus college. The college also provides various scholarship opportunities to the students of quota and financially constraint conditions.The placement cell also provides various opportunities for internships from the first year itself both paid as well as unpaid.
Campus Life
DRC is known for a vast number of societies ranging from Dance society to 180DC, Recently a new society has also been introduced which is Tedxdrc. College is also known for its fest. Classrooms are also huge and airy though I have not been to college but I have heard that the college library is also amazing and have vast collection of books. There are sports facility as well but right now since everything is online, the societies are still actively working online and its easy to be a part of any society.
