NITC, Kerala through my eyes

My college is a govt. College first of all. Secondly, it ranked 23rd by NIRF. Also, the highest package recorded is 49 LPA and the top recruiters include Wipro, Capgemini, Deloitte and so forth. Furthermore, the college is also low and these are the reasons due to which I decided to take admission into this college for pursuing MBA .However, to take admission, I applied for it by filling up the application form wherein I filled all the details such as basic details, previous record of academics, and most importantly, the score of CAT exam. Based on my score of CAT exam and marks obtained in undergraduate, 10th and 12th, I got shortlisted for further round where I faced an Interview and lastly, I got offer letter for admission.

The course curriculum of MBA program is designed by professionals and the faculty members. It is also reviewed and updated further as per the changes that are introduced in the business world. Our college follows semester system and thus, there are 4 semesters in 2 years program. Further, the courses that are taught include core as well as elective courses an those are macro economics, finance management, organisational behaviour, management information system, marketing management and others. Besides, summer training program is the most important part of the course curriculum. Also, in each semester we are given projects and assignments. Moreover, the faculties are highly qualified and they teach us with the help of case studies and apart from the classroom lectures, they also develop managerial skills, soft skills, etiquettes, analytical thinking abilities and other required skills.

The placement cell of our college work day and night to provide us on-campus and off-campus placement along with training. Our college provide summer internship after completion of the first and second semester from May to June. The duration of summer internship program vary from 8-10 weeks. Now coming to the final placement record, almost 90% students get placed every year to top recruiting companies like Wipro, Morgan Stanley, CISCO, IBM, Capgemini and many others. Most importantly, the highest package offered last year was 49 LPA whereas the average package was 12 LPA. Also, during summer internship, stipend is given and the highest stipend offered last year during internship was 45 thousands per month. Lastly, post completing MBA from NITC, I will work in an organisation and gain experience to set up my own business.

The total fee for MBA program at my college is 1.6 lakhs and that for each semester, I paid 40 thousands. Also, our college has scholarship provision based on merit and financial condition for SC, ST and other minority students hailing from Kerala or other states. However our college has set some criteria which they have to fulfil. So, the criteria is that their family's annual income should be less than 2.5 lakhs and they must have obtained at least 50% marks in undergraduate. Now, since I am from unreserved category, I didn't fulfil the required criteria and so, I couldn't get the scholarship benefits.

My college oftenly organises events and that is the prominent reason for such a dynamic campus life. We don't feel boring here whether we are in classroom lecture or outside the classroom. The Infrastructure of our college is good as there is library, multiple options for foodies like me, sports complex for both indoor and outdoor sports. WiFi connection for 24/7 is the best thing here. Now, apart from these, events like photography competition - Vidyut, business quiz competition - Paritah, marketing event - Mantra, treasure hunt - Dhanaadhikrith take place. And most importantly, since I had interest in photography, I decided to join photography club and participated in the competition as well. But unfortunately, I couldn't win but the experience was good enough. And yes, my campus life at NITC is amazing from day 1.
