Entrance Preview
I wanted to be an engineer and wanted to do a B-tech course so I took the West-bengal joint entrance examination test in 2013 to get admission in the colleges of West bengal. I got approx 14000 rank in my Wbjee . So I was not able to go for government engineering colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course offered by WBUT is not up to the mark according to the research point of view. It basically covers those portion of computer science engineering which are very basic in all engineering syllabus. The first year syllabus was mostly consisting all the parts which we had studied in our senior secondary. The electives subjects in our syllabus is given by our college before hand .
Internships Opportunities
Yes the college provide internship but at the last year during the placement time when most of the companies come for jobs, among them most of them provide the internship plus job program . Companies such as think and learn. But yeah during the 3 rd year when most of the colleges brings companies for the internship programs we are just busy in our academics.
Placement Experience
Placements are average in our college as my college comes under a group of colleges which consists of 17 to 18 colleges and thus we have to sit in a pool campus for every company that comes in our campus. TCS is considered to be our mass recruiter which comes every year and many other as mind tree and Capgemini. According to the placement cell only 30 percent of our college students are placed every year.
College Events
Yes technical as well as cultural festivals are organised every year by our college in which students of our college as well as from all the other colleges are also invited.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The Fee structure of WBUT is very feasible which is one of the most important reason for the large populations in colleges of West Bengal. According to my year the semester fees of each individual for the B.tech course was around 35000 to 40000 and the it includes all the taxes and admission as well as the examination fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes the scholarship programs are there for financially unstable students mostly students of SC and ST categories and from muslim communities are given scholarships by WBUT. There is form released every year for new students who has to submit their details.
Alumni/Alumna
No, there is no any contact between the alumni of colleges and the college because there is no any programs organised for the alumni of our college. Some pass out students who wants to meet their faculties come just to express their gratitude.
Exam Structure
Exams in WBUT are not so hectic the schedule for the semester examinations are announced one month before the examination after which consist of the schedule for the practicals as well as theory papers, in total there are 10 subjects in each semester for computer science students. 3 hours of examinations for theory paper is given and for practicals exams mostly theory and no externals teachers come to examine the results.
Faculty
About the faculties of our college they are not very much qualified as most of them are young and assistant professors which are currently pursuing their Phd programs. They are basically teaching the formal and basic information about the subject which they study themselves first and the teach us.
