Remarks

I applied for 5 Colleges and their reasons for not attending are :- 1) VIT (VELLORE) - Too far from my hometown and is established in a rural area. The College is extremely crowded. 2) MANIPAL (MAIN CAMPUS) - Too far from my hometown. 3) JIIT - Placements not so well as compared to other colleges and not so many research facilities. 4) SRM (KTR CAMPUS) - Placements not so well as compared to other colleges. I didn't avail for any quota but the college provides 50% home domicile quota to Punjab studnets and other SC/ST/J&K migrants. The admission criteria have 60%+ in Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Counselling - The cutoff for ECE - 95 (average of PCM in 10+2), 94%ile in JEE.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose ECE because the college provides the best faculty and research opportunities, well-equipped labs and the student is the teacher's ratio is 18:1. The teachers are really very cooperative and always ready to help. All the faculty is staff are PHDs from reputed universities around the globe. Their teaching method is really appreciable they focus on practical knowledge instead of mugging up the books. There are two-term exams midterm and end-term both of them are quite easy to score good marks means last day studying will help you fetch 8+ cgpa.

To avail of a scholarship, you should be in the top 10% of your class. The placements are really great avg package goes around 8 LPA and the campus provides numerous opportunities for internships and placements. The stipend for an internship varies from 30000 - 50000 pm.

Campus Life

5

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
