Remarks
The college management is not quite efficient and there is always a struggle for the students to organize any event or introduce any new ideas.
Entrance Preview
I took the IPU-CET in 2011. I secured a rank of 5557 and opted for this college because it had promising placements and it is a Govt. College which is quite esteemed.
Course Curriculum Overview
Th course curriculum is quite thorough. One has to secure a minimum of 50% marks in all subjects to pass the semester. The curriculum is mainly theory based, but during the last two years, practical examinations become much more important. The examination sheets are checked by professors from different instuitutes.
Internships Opportunities
No, the college doesn't provide internship. One must secure an internship by themselves, but doing one is mandatory for the curriculum and a practical examination is conducted for the same.
Placement Experience
The placements were quite good in the beginning. But after 2011 the quality has fallen. During the passing out of my batch, we had a few high profile IT companies holding Recruitment drives and recruiting a high number of students. However, they did not arrive the next year.
College Events
The following are annual events organized in the college ambrosia-- Annual cultural Fest, Inceptum- Annual technical Fest, Fortius- Annual Sports Fest, Annual Literary Fest apart from the above, there are many unofficial events such as the Farewell and the Freshers Party organized by the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is quite feasible since the Institute is funded by the Government of NCT of delhi the annual fee is INR 35000/- per annum plus a security deposit of INR 5000/- in the beginning which is refunded later. Some underprivileged students also get scholarships from the University.
Fees and Financial Aid
Some underprivileged students also get scholarships from the University. These students include the Scheduled Caste/Tribe, Other Backward Classes, Physically Handicapped categories.
Campus Life
The campus life is what you make of it. There is scope for participating in a lot of extra curricular activities including sports, debates and honing your management skills. The gender ratio is highly uneven. Only 10%-20% of the students make up for the female students.
Hostel Facilities
The college has no Hostel provision. the campus is quite small and the buildings are ragged. The campus is built on an a another's institute's hostel premises and is very ragged looking. The canteen food in unremarkable but the staff is quite friendly and helpful.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is pretty much non-existent as of right now, but work is under progress by the Training and Placement Department to form a regular network. You will find a plethora of senior students willing to help you out and lend you books.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is quite stringent there are two sets of internal examinations of 30 marks each and two sets of practitional examinations-one internal examination and external examination then there is one major end semester exam of 100 marks. One has to secure a minimum of 50% marks in all subjects to pass the semester.
Admission
After finishing my XII exams, i took the IPU-CET which is the entrance examination held by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. One has to secure a minimum of 60% in the AISSCE to be eligible in the IPU-CET. After giving the examination, the results were declared after a month in which I secured a ranking of 5557 the University invited me for their Counselling process and I was allotted the institute based on my ranking and the options that I had filled.
Faculty
The college faculty has recently been replaced with a permanent staff recruited via the UPSC. This was done after my passing out so I wouldn't know much about it now. Also, a few guest faculty members also come from NITs and DTU, and they are highly resourceful.
