Entrance Preview
I took into the Joint Entrance Examination i.e. JEE. I scored 80 in the entrance and my effective score was 81.5. North Easter Hill University is a reputed university of Shillong. I got to know about this college from one of my Physics Sir when I was in my 12th class. Since then I had thought about it.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the department of Information Technology as I have a keen interest in technologies and programming. As far as I know the course structure will be much more simplified in the next year which will include much practicals and activities to increase the practical knowledge of the students. The present structure is also good. I am happy with it.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, our college provides internship. Well, I don't remember the particular names of the company. I don't have much knowledge regarding this internship as I am a bachelor student. I would look forward to my seniors gaining the information about it.
Placement Experience
The placement and job opportunities are of an average level. Recently, some of the seniors were placed with a good package. Of course, the deserved one will be placed and the one who were placed were really a deserving one. I don't have much idea regarding the past of the university and so the ex students. As I am a fresher to the university will be getting to know eventually.
College Events
There are numerous functions which use to be celebrated in the university. The major events that are celebrated in the university are Fresher's Party, Farewell party, teachers' day and tech fest. All the events use to be of great fun and enjoyment. DJ nights are conducted in the evening of fresher's party.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The university holds a feasible fee for all the expenses. The fee structure is pretty good. An amount of 24000/- is required in the semester excluding the hostel fees. Hostel fees are 5000/- to which 3000/- or so is refundable which use to be refunded at the time of leaving the hostel.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the college offers a good scholarship to the meritorious students. The students of the SC and ST caste can take very good advantage of the opportunity. Also, scholarship for OBC students are availed by the college. The university provides the scholarship amount every year.
Campus Life
The campus is very beautiful and large. The campus has science museum and sports university inside it. Also, it has an indoor stadium and there are about 3 basketball's courts. The laboratories are well equipped with latest devices and technology. The university has a good diversity. People from different part of the India are here. The majority are of the Christian community.
Exam Structure
The Exam structure of the university is a well-planned. The university conducts two exams in a semester. The internal or the mid semester which comprises of 60 marks along with the assignments and quizes and the end semester or the final semester which comprises of 90 marks. The total of both the semester is taken into account in the end of the semester. Separate practical exams are conducted which comprises of 50 marks each lab work.
Faculty
North Eastern Hill University is the most reputed university in the state of Meghalaya and also it's ranking is in the number 15 in the ranking of the university in India. All the faculties are well trained and they are giving their best to the students. Out of all the faculty member, our Electrical Sir is one of the lovable ones.
