Remarks

College is a wonderful place if you can play some game especially basketball, but be warned they take in a lot of sport quota, apart from that its pretty good but very strict.

Entrance Preview

Common entrance test for engineering. Opted for ECE over Mechanical because ECE had more scope at that point in time.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The typical Anna University syllabus, in my time we had only semesters, it was tough and for people who don't like electronics it can become very dry and incredibly difficult, especially during the 3rd, 4th and 5th semesters. The college has good staffs to guide us through the tough papers, especially one Mr. Jesbastian.

Internships Opportunities

We did not manage to get any internships with stipends, however, we did go to wide variety of organisations for internships, from BSNL to ONGC.

Placement Experience

3

Placement market was below average that year however, in my batch we did manage to get around 150 students placed in the first two companies. Then there were some 15 other companies, from Renault Nissan to Wipro. Most of the first three placements was IT based, the following were core companies some took just 3 - 4 from whole bunch.

College Events

2.5

We have technical symposiums every year, all major festivals are celebrated well, hostel and college day has a week long celebration, then cultural and sports every year, the sporting events are pretty feisty I should add, then we do have a wonderful annual day, with some nice chief guests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I should say it is mid range and pretty fixed, not very expensive. You do get the regular components of lab, books, exam and other fees, It can less expensive for hotel accommodation than arranging for your own accommodation unless your from Chennai. There is will be no negotiations what so ever in anything that i can guarantee.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ratio is goof, however, everything is strict, and I mean STRICT. Unless you one of the few lucky individuals who can play some game really well. They have a ball of a time, for instance I played football and I rarely went to college, and they really take good care of their players, from kit sponsors to stipends.

Alumni/Alumna

I'm not sure of the strength of the alumni network, but you can get establish good contacts when you are in college and they can prove to be very helpful.

Exam Structure

Not at all, exam structure was pretty standard for all colleges under Anna Univ. I JPR they do have model exams with a preset pass percentage, falling to clear the cutoff will end up making you cut short your study holidays, they do have study camps to hep students after regular class hours.

Admission

We approached this college as we had been informed by my father's colleague about the college being a good place. His son was studying Mech when I had joined. The college had just had one passed out batch and was 16th in overall ranking. We went our parish priest for guidance as this was a Christian minority institution.

Faculty

3.5

During my time some staffs were really really good, some were below average. But the good ones make up for the slack, for instance DSP, Control Systems and Signals and Systems can be quite difficult, however, we did get through them rather comfortably. There was a Anand teaching engineering drawing, one work for him was pathetic good that he left the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
