Good college

I took AIEEE. My rank was 400000. At this rank I was getting colleges in Jaipur only. I had three options to choose from Arya College, JEC and Shankara. Out of these three reviews for JEC were better in terms of girls hostel and food. Education is same in both the colleges. (Arya and JEC). But somewhat student crowd was better in JEC and so were the facilities.

Course curriculum at our times was same for all the colleges that were affiliated through Rajasthan Technical University. Course was good and so were the subjects. This might has changed now since it has become deemed university. But most of the courses still match with rajasthan technical university courses.

There is no internship provided by the college during our tenure. There were placement assistance only that was provided by the placement cell.

Placements in the year 2010 were not that good. there was no single company that visited the campus. Most of the placements were off-campus or in other colleges where students were invited at that time for companies like Patni, Mahindra Satyam and others.

There were various events organised in an year. First one was freshers party which was 1st year and 2nd year students. Then there was technical event called rostrum for all the students that includes various technical programs like paper presentation, debates, posters making, etc. Last was cultural event called fungama where students used to showcase their hidden talent. Other colleges were also part of this event,

Fee structure was standard as per rajasthan technical university for the semesters. Hostel fees was set for college management. Both of the fees were feasible. semester fee was 35000 and hostel fee was 40000. which was round about to 1 lakh per year.

Scholarship facility was there for minor and merit students yearly. there were some muslim facilities who were availing this scholarship.

An alumni network was created recently and there were various alumni meets organised from time to time so that students can interact with them and placements can be organised.

There were usually two semesters in the year. There were two internals and two semester exams. Besides that there were practicals for few subjects. It was not hectic and was chilled out. Internal exams were scheduled as two in day. But that was the pattern in all the colleges for internals as they were just 1 hour exam.

I got admission through my AIEEE rank. Since I was residing in Delhi, I filled out form in delhi office and submitted fees and got the admission on the basis of my rank. Later I had to visit college campus to complete all the formalities for hostel.

Faculty is the only pain point of JEC. Most of the teachers were only B.tech passouts. There were few who were M.tech graduates but that was through correspondence. There were no faculty who were specialised in their fields. Most of them were teaching because they could not land up with jobs in IT companies.
