Remarks

I chose community college because I was supporting myself, and I wanted a college that was both flexible and affordable. While I was attending classes, I was also working 30 hours a week, but I still managed to get my associate degree in two and a half years.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Academics professors are well educated. They explain lectures so well. They take regular classes and clear all the doubts. Curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field. It has all necessary information.PlacementsLast Year around 80 percent placements were there. And they all got good job of around rs 25 to 30 thousand. Big companies like tommy Hilfiger also comes in our college. The job process was easy and pleasant. College was also supportive. The highest package was given to( b.com hons )student .Value-for-money. Yes it costs 18060 per year. And it is affordable.Campus LifeWe met such a great crowd in college.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Placements. The word itself gives goosebumps to almost all the prefinal and final year students ( i said almost because those who say that they dont give a damn about placements are either actually some wannabe dudes pretending to be cool or the lads of some ridiculously rich dads ) .Afterall we all came here for placements.Because truth be told people its Thapar, we dont have startups here.Right away from the day of counselling, the only thing we as well as our parents care about is how big would the package be.This story goes about a friend of mine, a CSE guy.He was one of the most talented and hardworking guys in our whole year. The best in networking and web development in whole college (even better than some of the faculties). He was the only guy who made it to GSOC ( Google summer of code ) from the whole college. But the one thing that he lacked in was that his CGPA was low .He was a 6 pointer. The reason behind this was his carefree attitude .He never bothered about studying a subject just for the sake of scoring a grade. He studied only the subjects that interested him and didnt give a damn about those which didnt ( managing a bare minimum of passing marks). So the placement season started in august and the companies started coming almost everyday.People started getting placed, even those who had almost zero technical knowledge as compared to him were also placed just because they had a cgpa>7.He hadnt had even a chance to sit in the tests of Microsoft,DEshaw,Zomato etc.And the companies which had a cgpa criteria of 6 were either the consultancies or offered a ctc which he thought was not worth his knowledge. So there he was unplaced till mid november ( when almost 75% of the cse batch was placed). But he never gave up his calm nor did he make a compromise just to get the job.He kept trying to get an offer offcampus and continued with his area of interest. Then one day a company named TT consultants visited our campus. They were offering consulting profiles. The cgpa criteria was again >7. So he was naturally not eligible to sit for the test, neither did he bother about it.He was sleeping in his room when he received a phonecall from the PR (placement representetive), saying that his interview was scheduld in 15 minutes .Actually the company officials had called the PRs and said that they have only one job opening for technical post and they wished to fill that .They asked if there was anyone exceptionally gud in computer technicals and naturally his name was coined. So his interview started, the comany officials were very much impressed with his technical know-how but he was reluctant in accepting the offer as the job profile they offered didnt match his area of interest .But the officials made a special request to the placement cordinator of our college and to maintain the terms with the company, he also agreedSo a guy who was not even eligible to sit for the test, was placed in that company and that too against his own will. But that was only the start .He got 3 more internship offers and 3 more placements offer from the following companies and the result of one company which specially mentioned his name for interview in the notice awaits as i write this .TT consultants (job + intern) -5.5 lpaRoutofy ( job + intern) - ctc 7 lpaAuthorgen ( job+ intern) - ctc 7 lpaGrofers ( job+intern)-ctc 8.5lpaAspiring minds (job+intern)-ctc 14lpa ( results awaited). So to all those who are reading this and have low CGPAs .Dont worry people, just keep working on your concepts and have faith in yourself and your capabilities.Dont compromise with your worth . Right opportunity will knock your door at the right time and will get you placed . Even if you dont get placed oncampus its not the end of the world.Keep calm and keep trying .ALL THE BEST!!!!

A certain percentage of such groups will always receive scholarships each year.Special Disadvantaged Groups: These groups include women, those with disabilities, etc. These groups will not be treated with any discrimination and will be afforded an equal opportunity to scholarship opportunities.Scholarship SchemesUniversity has put in place several scholarship schemes including tuition/fee waiver (partial or full), stipends to cover living expenses and/or health benefits expenses, etc. The amounts depend on the scheme, the academic program, location, etc

Campus Life

5

One word: College life is incomplete if you don't live it on the campus. My sir was an IITian and the way he described his campus life, you would have seriously envied him.You wake up due to your roommate's alarm at 6am while he sleeps till noon. You share everything, soap, clothes, toothpaste, deos and what not with your roomie. You start saying I'm fine even when you feel sick. You understand that friends are not the ones you usually hangout with, they are the ones you can call whenever you feel low.You get to watch cricket matches and football matches in the campus halls with a crowd of 100+ loud, energetic youngsters like you. Seriously something worth experiencing. You can eat anything. Just anything. The food in the mess is something you will have to get used to.You get involved in all on campus activities, and you learn what is teamwork. You learn how to adjust, and to behave well even with the people whom you actually hate. You give everything a shot. Being on campus gives you and independent lifestyle, allows you freedom to fulfil your dreams. Finally, you are given the warmest welcome when you return home. Definitely absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostels are pretty decent, They are clean have proper sanitation and water supply. Like it said nothing is perfect there are some flaws that are there in the rooms but most of them are dealt with on a daily basis by a CMS-Complaint Management System. There are Wardens, Caretakers and cleaners for all the help to the students. The food quality in mess is not consistent some times you get amazing food sometimes you cant even eat it. There is GYM in all the hostels. The rent of AC rooms is higher than NON Ac rooms but the cost difference is not much. The registration for hostels in the first year is on the spot at the time of councelling but for the following years, you have to do it online on a portal from college. Rooms have Fan, Table, Chair, Study Light, Almirah, AC, and some kind of rack of shelf for keeping things.

Admission

NO the do not conduct any interview. Only in the basis of your JEE(Mains) marks or your twelfth marks would be required to get into this university. Only for those enrolling for their masters or their doctoral degree are supposed to appear for an interview.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.
