Remarks
I applied to MIT Manipal and JAC Delhi, didn't go for jossa. Got Delhi quota and got dtu mechanical which I obviously choose over Manipal cs because I am from Delhi. I got 33000 ranks although students up to 50000 ranks got mechanical branch. There was no counselling day only online counselling was done.
Course Curriculum Overview
The exams are median as compared to the other engineering institutions and the teachers are also not very strict but some of them definitely are. The student faculty ratio is around 25:1, considering the PhD students as teachers as they assist the professors. The exams were conducted very timely and punctually and the corona gap was covered.
Internships Opportunities
There are good tech companies offering on campus internships but only for cs it and mce. Most of them give PPO's. I have not got an internship yet as the opportunity comes in the 5th semester. Around 150 internship offers are made by companies in 2000 students.
Placement Experience
From 7th sem students start getting placed. Most of the top tech companies like Amazon, Microsoft, adobe come to the college and make several offers. The highest package was around 40 lacs by Microsoft and the average is around 8-9. 50 % of students get placed. I am thinking of doing a mba from iim blacki.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost of study considering an engineering college is median to high and for online I think it's more on the higher side. The fees hike is not very high but considering online semesters it should definitely be reduced.
Campus Life
Due to the pandemic, we were not able to conduct any of the fests. But engifest is the biggest cultural fest of Delhi after IIT Delhi's. I have not even seen the Classroom and library due to corona but the library is nice and big from the outside. Sports facilities are good except that dtu doesn't have a swimming pool. There are all kinds of debate, drama, writing, dancing clubs that could be joined.
