Entrance Preview

LPU-Nest was the entrance exam for which i opted for and i scored 153. This college give the platform to explore their talent in every field.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is well planed according to the course type selected by the student and it also gave the practical knowledge about day to day life activities. It is also planned how the students need to study the particular thing in their course according to the topic priority. They are planned from the basic to the advanced level.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, it provides internship. As till now i have not experienced it because i am in second year bet according to seniors they have good response in the particular thing.

Placement Experience

Placements and job opportunities are also very good as the students having talents in their field are surely getting placed and are also getting. Many options to select their dream company and their job type as they are getting more than one offers for the job.

Fees and Financial Aid

This university offers good scholarship as well as loan facilities to the eligible students. Students are offered scholarship according to the marks obtained in 12th class and LPU-NEST(entrance exam).

Campus Life

As being the largest private university of India it comprises of students from different states of India and also students from different countries which make it more diverse. Gender ratio is also good as the amount of boys and girls are equal. As mentioned earlier this university gives the platform to perform co-curricular activities in every fields.

Exam Structure

Exams are taken on the regular intervals so that students can check their self that what they have studied for their final exams. Along with that practical exams are also taken so that students can also check their practical knowledge in particular subject.

Admission

I gave the exam and i was selected to get the scholarship of 30%. After that i have just enrolled my self in by giving 10000 to the person who has came in my home town to do the counselling and after that i have done next paper verification in thee university by visiting there.

Faculty

They are well qualified and teaching skills of most of the teachers is also appreciable. They always motivate students to make a better future and also stops the students from doing students nuisance things. Teachers are selected on the basis of their qualifications and also how they correlate studies with happenings around us .

Exploring life at Chandigarh University

Likes

Good and modern campus infrastructure. The university is large, modern with good classrooms, labs, hostels and tec.
Most teachers are knowledgeable, supportive and explain concepts clearly.
The university provides placement drives, training sessions, career guidance and etc.

Dislikes

Large student intake. Due to high number of students, sometimes it can be difficult to get individual attention from faculty.
During peak hours, some areas of the campus can be crowded.
The quality of hostel food is not much satisfying.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Chandigarh University are generally good, with students becoming eligible for campus placements in the later semesters, dependiing on their course. Many companies visit the campus for recruitment, offering roles in IT, engineering, management and other fields. The packages vary by company and profile with some students receiving high packages while others get average entry-level offers. Placement opportunities depend on student skills, academic performance and interview preparation. After completing my degree, I plan to secure a good job in my field, gain practical experience and continue developing my technical and professional skills.

Likes

The most appreciated aspect was the quality of teaching in classroom. There were structured planning for studies and exam preparations.
The campus was peaceful and the college celebrated every cultural event very enthusiatically covering interest of students belonging from various traditional backgrounds across India.
There was wide spread interest both from students and faculty side for promoting extra cirricular activites and talent.

Dislikes

The way a student raises a complain can be improved.
To allot extra hours for extra acirricular activites.

Placement Experience:

Placements are great for tech and core domains. Alomost every students gets to sit in placement following the eligibilty critera. Many students get double placed and there is a placement policy which allows fare chances of placement to every student.

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess

limited practical exposure is provided by the campus and also there should be more hand on international events

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.
