Remarks

Spsu conducts an entrance exam "SPSAT" if one clears that exam he/she can get admission, also Spsu provides scholarships to the students based on their 12th marks and SPSAT exam scores. The admission process is easy and staff/ teachers are also very friendly and supportive.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The railway is the subject of my interest and I was very curious about this course and wanted to work in railway field that's why I chose Rail Transportation Engineering from Spsu. All the Faculty members of this branch are highly qualified(MTech/Ph.D.) and experienced in their fields which makes classes very interesting and interactive. Exams are conducted properly on time, apart from exams regular assignments and quizzes are also being conducted every month. The level of exams is also easy if one has studied properly and focused on classes.

Internships Opportunities

2

There are many internship opportunities for students in their respective departments. Civil students get a chance to complete their internship in Dubai. Internship opportunities are provided by the college but most probably students only have to search for their internships.

Placement Experience

1.5

College placements are good, almost 80% of the students got placement last year. Placement cell tries their best to bring in companies for placements. The college has collaborated with Hitachi, Japan for rail transportation students to send them for 2 months internship every year, but no one went to Hitachi, Japan for the last two years!! Only college people can answer the reason!

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the fees structure is a little bit expensive. Semester fees for my program are 85k plus 45k hostel fees. But scholarships are provided on a merit basis to the students. Spsu provides scholarships to many students based on their academics and financial backgrounds, so fees is overall not an issue If you can a scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

Spsu has many clubs for students which are run by college students only, students can join clubs and explore their interests. College students keep organizing various events on a monthly basis by which students can interact and have a good time. The annual event(PANACHE) is also organized every year in which Various sports and cultural events are conducted like support competitions, dance competitions, singing competitions, inter-college and intra college both!!

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel rooms are okok, there is space for two people in a room. Two beds, two almirahs are provided, there is no AC only fans. Hostels are really very clean, cleanliness is always taken care of by the wardens and staff. All students live in hostels.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as very good. It covers important topics and provides useful theoretical and practical knowledge. The syllabus is relevant to our field of study and helps develop our skills. However, including more practical sessions and industry-related topics would make the curriculum even better.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the cirriculum is designed in a way such that most of the outdated and uselss things are removed this year and the labs of each subjects help you well enough to dive deeper into the application of the subject . some areas for improvement can be removing unnecessary subjects like manufacturing process for cse students . main exams are held every 3 months and the difficulty is moderate

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum includes lab works, workshops and seminars. Which influence the choice to choose the course. But they are lacking to get hands on experience. Though they are guest lectures and seminar which is highly beneficial. Need to provide report on summer internship, industrial training, which is mandatory according to curriculum. Which helps in gaining hands on real life skills. But students still pass this barrier using fake certification and copied reports. And faculty is not strict about this. I believe the latest technologies which is not integrated in curriculum like AI/ ML ,recent frameworks , even if integrated not taughtd in depth. Like we have subjects AI , ML but no practical learning. Assignment are huge burden with little learning we need assessment that tests understanding rather than memorization. More subjects needed on softs skills especially in last year during placement season. Live project with company as all student are not able to land good internships. Frequency of exams like midterm( 2 in 3-4 months) ,practical( at the end of semester just after 2 nd midterm exam). End semester exams - 10-20 days after practical exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because here the course is relevant and infrastructure is good also they give scholarship to study here . Curriculum helps very well in improving real world applications in day to day life . Teaching methods are impressive but some times it looks like a burden as they give load to students in improving themselves so this thing they should improve . Timing of the exams are of 3 hours . Their exam pattern is like other government college but they take exam strictly. Difficulty level is medium level .
