Not a good experience in University of Lucknow.

I applied for Lucknow University college for BCA degree entrance exam in 2017. The syllabus for BCA entrance exam in University Lucknow was Aptitude, Logical reasoning, computer science, English and General Knowledge but in the actual exam there were quite a good amount of questions from class 11 and 12 science and maths. Total seats for BCA is 60 seats and there was negative marking in examination.For four question there is 1 marks deducted means for every wrong question 0.25 marks will get deducted.On councelling day the students were entering according to their rank. Steps were document verification and fees payment for 1st semester. They were accepting card payment from any bank. As my fees for 31000 for semester (1000 extra for allotment), my card limit was 20000 so i faced some issue. This councelling process was very slow and they took many breaks in between and i didnt liked that. I got my allotment letter after payment for first semester fees.

I choose BCA because i wanted to study computer fundamentals and Programming languages. The faculty was small and not that good. We had hard time getting information regarding exam dates, practical exams schedule or scholarship related queries. The time sheet for practical exam were only available on same day as when exams are and because of this those who have exam in second shift still have to come early morning and i was one of them. Basically information communication was bad there. Some teachers were good in sense of their teaching some were not even average. Teachers came late and leave early. Our HOD was good though and listened for our every query but he was busy so cannot attend us every time. Their teaching method and style was very old, just write some notes and learn the book to pass the exam. In exams no matter how good we understood the cocept if we not write it in bookish language then we will never get 80+ marks. Copy checking was average.

One good think University of Lucknow offered is Financial Assistance and scholarship assistance. Allmost everyone who accurately submits scholarship forms will get it and i Was one of them as i studied by relying on scholarship. Being from general quota for the yearly fees of rupees 60000 i get 50000-56000 rupees yearly scholarship named UPScholarship. It also has concept for zero fees for economically weaker students. The fees hikes we not at all was a problem and some fees like library fees and some form fee wervery less in range of 10 rupee to 50 rupee which was way cheaper than most of the colleges.

There were annual fest and sanskriti programs help in University but you have to collect information about it yourself as the advertising was very bad. I once participated in Treasure hunt and it was average. Some webinars also help on recent tech and growth and that were good and free to attend. Most of the books were available in libraries of our course but apart from that some non course books were not there. There were two libraries one for 6 month issuing book and 1 for less days issuing. Mine was for 14 days. The classromm has wooden long seats and were not that comfortable, felt like old days. In Computer science faculty there was smart class in only one class. Overall social culture was not that great there.
