Entrance Preview

I took CMAT and scored 96 percentile. Since i had applied for just 3 colleges which considered CMAT scores i got a interview call from all 3 but got rejected for my first 2 preferences and got in the 3rd one which was IBS. My friend who was a student of IBS at the time informed me that it was a decent college with decent placement process. My friend got placed with a CTC of 8 lac per annum.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The first year has all the compulsory subjects, the basics that one need to learn. Along with 3 months of internship which separates 1st and 2nd year, in the 2nd year one has to opt for a specialisation which could be finance, marketing, hr, operations or either dual which depends upon the subjects you take. There a total of 6 subjects per semester.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college has contacts with companies who in turn hire students after interviews ofcourse. The stipend depends upon the company. The college has dedicated webpage for internships where students can apply.

Placement Experience

4

The average package i would say is 6-7 lacs. Companies that come to the college are Delloite, Reliance jio, JP Morgan, Capital First, Amul , Kotak Mahindra, Hdfc, Pnb housing etc. A friend of mine got selected in delloite offering a package of 6.5 lacs. While another friend got selected in jp morgan and got a package of 11 lacs.

College Events

4.5

There a number of clubs for eg: marketing, finance, book club, sports, drama, dance club etc. Every club organises an event in which each division compete against each other. There is debate contest and a quiz contest too. There is also a college fest too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is such that one would be able to recover the fees in about 1-1.5 years which i think is not very bad. In my opinion it is a median range fee. For the average package offered i would say it is quite decent.

Campus Life

3.5

The gender ratio is good. Students from different states of india, which makes it a great experience to intermingle with different states. Throughout the year there are some form of extracurricular activities that take place. Debates, fashion shows, quiz contest, projects, sports competitions etc are some extracurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are no hostel facilities available for IBS mumbai but it is available for IBS hyderabad. Pg's are available on rentals in the vicinity of the college for around 6k which one has to share with other people. Considering the area in which these pg's are offered thats a bargain. And college in the neighbourhood is an added advantage.

Alumni/Alumna

The college makes sure that the alumni share their experiences regarding internships and the jobs that they are currently in. Which is quite helpful. To get a first hand knowledge about the process.

Exam Structure

The schedule lies somewhat in between chilled out and hectic. Sometimes it gets a little hectic with the presentations and projects but i guess it is manageable. Every semester has a preliminary and an end term exam. Preliminary exam of 40 marks and end term of 100 which gets scaled back to 60 marks.

Admission

There is separate entrance of IBS known as IBSAT, it also considers CMAT scores. Once you apply for apply through either one of the above, you get an email notification regarding your shortlisting for the interview process, interview process consists of GD & PI. Again you get an email notification of your selection you also get a booklet of the college fee structure etc in mail. My fees at the time was 7.1 lac for the course.

Faculty

4

I have mixed feelings about the faculty. There are well qualified and great teaching faculty which are always ready to help you anytime but there are some who i feel are uninterested but overall the faculty is great. During placements too teachers take the time out over their obligation too make you prepare for the interview.

Placement Experience:

The placements depend upon which Specialization you're in. If you're a marketing student there will be lots of good companies coming in for placements followed by finance and then HR. You become eligible for placement from 3rd semester. Companies such as Deloitte, PWC, TCS, HCL, etc. visit the campus for placements and offer a good amount of Packages.

We learned a lot from the curriculum and the college itself. My journey was a mixed bag of feelings with many sweet and sour moments. The classroom sessions were fun and so were the field visits and management activities like webinars or mock marketing competitions.

College is almost good .this for those who want only masters but no placement .if you also want to get placed in any company need only degree ur welcome. The management is worst the nonteaching staff doesn't know how to talk with students especially the admission office. I here declare whatever I have seen and suffered I presented my view about this college to you, not it's your choice to go to heaven like symbiosis or choose hell. I was misguided and helpless so I came here means I got fewer marks in a snap so please students appear for snap sincerely.
