IIIT Dharwad, B.Tech, Computer Science and Engineering

Reviewed on Nov 11, 2021(Enrolled 2020)

Remarks

I'm from the general category so no option except being in counseling. IIIT DHARWAD is a good institute because of the fact that it has the least cutoff than most other colleges in newly opened colleges in 2k15. So I joined and since this online mode of teaching I came to know that our college staff (both teaching and nonteaching) are quite better because of their stand behind us in these tough times and You should follow jossa/cab guidelines strictly for the admission. The process of admission is the same as every MHRD IIIT colleges

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As everyone is a cse bully so I am. Faculty: student is approximately 1:11. I think this is far better. Every faculty should be a Ph.D. pursued one. So there is no question to shoot on there knowledge and they are quite knowledgeable. But some strict professors are even here where it is quite common in every institute. You can easily pass and exams are not even conducted regularly but they make sure that you are focusing by giving you some extraordinary assignments.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 300 per year

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internships are offered at 3rd year and some good companies are offering but it's upto student task if they're really capable and intresting they can even intern at Amazon Google etc.. I don't know much about projects ..

Placement Experience

From the 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. You can checkout in campus website about placements but there are some exciting companies like delete Microsoft etc.. average package is around 8 for cse and the highest is about 35 lac. placement percentage is about 94 percent (cse+ece). I am even planning to write my UPSC after this

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee hike policy is according to the ministry of health Resources and development so there is no involvement of the institute directly. Financial assistance is the scholarship schemes of their respective states. I am still studying here and hoping for a good placement

Campus Life

4.5

As we are in online mode for now there is no information about fests as the institute got their permanent campus we are really having content about them. the library was the most fond one that we can ever found. Sports and clubs should be discussed after going offline. And classrooms were pretty good and spacious

Hostel Facilities

3 members per room with the required facility in excellent condition. The mess contract was changed so we should experience that in 2022. The hostel is mandatory for the college. As it is mandatory there is no use of mentioning pg or a rented room

Hostel Fee: INR 700 per year

Likes

Yes the first thing I liked is the campus and the environment there is no harrasment and strict action will be taken.
And second thing is faculty members are so helpful and they always help to students and different festival
And also the campus provide all facilities and make helps to sports and ration is almost equal of boys and girls

Dislikes

Yes some things are there which I disliked first is the campus is very strict and no function are organised yearly ones or twice is very sad thing as compared to other campus
Second thing is food students facing some problem with the food which hear prepared so outsiders facing lot of problems
Third is about hostel facility is good but very strict only once a week the students should go out side and write leave letter to go there native places.

Placement Experience:

Students got opportunity to eligible after 3rd year mainly in 7th semester students get opportunity for campus interview. In my college the company which came to hire is congizent and microsoft and amezon and dell nearly 80 to 90 company are came. The company offers is highest is 40 lack per annum which google provide and minimum is 4lack . Mainly 80 percent of the students are placed every year but due to war happened in the global impact in placement I want to do masters in abroad and then go to the company

very first thing i like in the college is the wifi network,
the library which is very peace and silent
average places to take photos and nearby there is nandi hills to visit

Dislikes

i dislike the distance of the college, its too large, should walk soo much
the cost of stationaries in the general store
i dont think so faculy are that much expertise , only countable people worth it

Course Curriculum Overview:

see i have choosed this course because it is very relatable to CSE, coz my ranking was not sufficient to get this course. the course which i took "Information Science and Engineering" is really a good course. they make us real world engineers. the area they shld actually improve is, hiring worthable faculty.

Insights of the Gopalan college of engineering and Management by a First Year Student

Likes

Canteen is fine has nice and tasty food and quite a lot of options
Library is also good has every book related to my course and few others as well
Lab facilities are also very nice and the college has a nice crowd

Dislikes

It's nothing like I expected, they don't let students use the ground or turfs. Facilities are pretty bad.
They charge money for everything and has zero facilities for college students. Everything is for there school students.
College is very small and the faculties are rude to students. (Mostly the case)

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for placements from there 7th semester but I wouldn't recommend relying on college for placements. Not many companies come to this college so placements are really bad. If u have skills it would be better to apply to companies on your own. I don't have details on how many students gets placed but as much as I know it's about 30-50 % And average package is also very low. I plan of gaining skills and certification on my own and job hunting myself in 4th year through my connections and internships. Or maybe go abroad for masters As I'm a first year student I don't know much about which companies come and how much they offer.
