Remarks

The admission process is very simple. There is no entrance exam for admission. It means you have to score good marks in the 12th Final Exam. For example, I have taken B.sc Mathematics honors because I had 88 in Mathematics in the 12th final exam. You have to score good marks more than 80 within 100 to get a chance for admission to that subject. Merit list calculation is very easy. You have to give the best of four subjects' marks. For example, for me, it was Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, English. And merit lists are made of these best of 4 subjects and besides they also give importance to the subject in which you are taking honours. The application form is on their official website. For Mathematics admission fees are 1692 and registration cost 350 so it's around 2000 rs overall. Application date varies and seat capacity was over 100 but there has a reservation for SC/OBC/ST/PWD. You have to physically verify documents after paying the fees.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I was good at mathematics and got good marks in the higher secondary exam. So I took Mathematics honors. There were 4 faculties and there were almost 80 students( later many students left and went for different fields). So the ratio was 20 students/faculty. Faculties were good and qualified but we did not have any regular on-time class. After the first half and one year when the pandemic hits our professors did not take any online class up to the 5th semester. But now two faculties have transferred. And the new two faculties are super good. We have got only last semester but they used to take online classes with presentations. Now I can say the four faculties are really good if want to learn mathematics very well. Two professors sir are Ph.D. holders and one ma'am has done M.sc from IIT. In the middle of every semester terms exam happens. The questions are not very tough. But if you can't answer you will get full marks from college internal.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it's a government college the fees are very low. You have to give an admission fee which is around 1700. Admission fees vary based on the subject you are admitting. Then there is a minimum of 350 rs of registration fees. And after admission for 2nd year, you have to give around 1200 ( subjectwise vary) and for 3rd year the same amount. So for a 3-year Bsc course, the college fee is less than 5000 rs. If you got over 60% marks you can get a swami Vivekananda scholarship and you can get a cast certificate scholarship. College does not provide any kind of financial assistance. And there is no campusing for any subjects the college offers. So there is no job opportunity from college. The admission fees generally stay the same.

Campus Life

0.5

The dissapointing thing about Taki government college is there is no annual or tech fest, not even a cultural program occur. We did have a freshers program. There is no campus in our college. It's just beside Taki Road. Yes, the college library is very good with thousands of books available.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
