Remarks

Higher Secondary pass from science background. If you taking honors in Mathematics minimum of 80% marks are needed in the HS Math exam. No entrance exam was taken. The admission process is directly based on a merit list. A merit list is created out of the best 4 subjects of the higher secondary exams. You will be admitted according to the percentage of marks. Documents need to be physically verified after admission payment. Application form is on Taki Government College's website ( www.tgc.ac.in). After the publishing of HS result, an admission form was given on their website Reservation benefits available

Course Curriculum Overview

I had good marks in Maths in HS exam. Alongside I want to be a Mathematics teacher. So I took admission to the Mathematics department of Taki Govt College. We had a total of 5 professors. Total seats in the Maths department is 117 but in our batch, active students were around 52 so we had 1 professor per 10 students which is a very decent ratio. All of them are highly qualified. Some of them have Ph.D. also. Their teaching techniques are very understandable. We had a total of 6 semesters and before every semester we had to give an internal exam. Exams are not very easy to pass.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 2000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Our total college fee was 5500 rs. And we did not have any extra fee charge for cultural programs or any college activity. The total college fee stays the same for several years. I have got the scholarship of Swami Vivekanda Scholarship. The first-year Scholarship amount was 18000 rs. For the second and the third years you have to pass with 60% marks to avail of the scholarship. No campusing system is available here.

Campus Life

Our college did not organize many annual fest or cultural programs. However, some seminars were organized on various topics in our college hall room. The College library was good. All kinds of books were available there. Anyone can take their subject's book and read at home. One annual sports function was organized by our students' union. Yes, we have a very helpful student union.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Sc Computer Science Faculty: Student ratio is = 4:23 may vary a bit Faculty are well Qualified & Teaching method is okay good, but not to the mark like very good or excellent. The exam term was timely (sometimes it gets a bit late due to some natural disaster like cyclone, heavy rainfall, etc or any govt. & university delays), and the exam level is nearly too difficult, something like in between moderate to difficult.

My Eyes On TAKI GOVERNMENT COLLEGE

I applied at Basirhat College, Barasat Evening College also. Even they confirmed my admission. But I Choose Taki Government College. Because First of all this is a government college. I got sone extra opportunity like low fees and more more extra things like free access of library, laboratory. I didn't get rejection from others college. Because I'm sure I was not that bad, that they could reject me. For getting admission your results must be good in class 12th. And there is a big competition, that's why if you had more marks in previous course you will get chance fast. And sometimes cast certificate mattar. I applied first. Giving a brief description about my college

I am a student of Taki Govt College. After my high schooling, I passed h.s exam. I had 80 in mathematics in the h.s exam. You have to score good marks more than 75 or 80 to get a chance for admission to that subject . And you must have to upload your best 4 subjects in h.s exam. Merit list calculation is very easy.For mathematics admission fees are 1692 and registration fees are 350 , so it's around 2000.;Therebis a facility of reservation seats on quota... SC/ST/OBC/UR. My proudest Taki government college

I applied in Taki government college in 2019.It is a beautiful college with many buildings. The admission process is little easy for the students because it's maximum happened through online mood. Then the students have to submit their online form in college. The teaching process is easy to understand. This college is also provide hostel facilities. I applied for English honours. And the teachers in this department is very understandable and friendly. The marks should be 50% if you applied for any honours subject. I got the chance to apply and it's my very good luck to take admission in this college. Also it's a government college where everyone will get many facilities and scholarships from government.
