Experience of an First year student at HITK

To get admission to Heritage institute of technology Kolkata, there are three ways: 1. By WBJEE 2. By JEE main 3. Br Management According to the recent trend, 4k rank is enough to get into CSE with specializations and 9K for ECE in WBJEE But by JEE Main it goes somewhere around 35K for CSE. You must be 12th passed and minimum marks should have 60% and above marks. When you qualify for any of two exams then you just have to go WBJEE website where you get an option for online councelling where you have to fill Heritage institute of technology as an option then if your rank is enough, you will get a college allotment letter. Then you have to come to collect physically and have to verify your documents physically and then pay your admission fee which costs around 70000. There is reserved only for students from West Bengal. There are no reservations for students outside. West Bengal. I just want an improvement in the admission process that the admission process should be fully online.

I chose this course because this is an evergreen branch where you can learn both core electronics and coding. This course offers you a wide platform and you are free to choose whether you want to go to core companies or in IT companies. Heritage institute of technology gives a good placement in this branch also on-campus and off-campus. The faculty and students ratio is quite good as in our batch we are divided into several groups and not just imposed a lot of students to a single teacher that helps us to learn and understand better. Almost all facilities are PhDs and they teach in very good manners. Nowadays online classes are going but then also they ask questions and encourage students to participate in class, not just come give lectures and go. Exams almost held on time but there is some uncertainty due to COVID and it is difficult to pass but if you right correct you will get marks.

College doesn't provide any kind of direct internship but guides students towards the companies offering the internship. As they provide us information about when the internship is going to hold and which companies are offering and also provide us the form for that.

There is a good on-campus placement for CSE IT and ECE. Other branches also get placements but can't say good. A lot of companies come like TCS and Wipro, LG, etc. The average package is about 6 LPA and the highest is around 18 LPA. There is a good percentage of students get placed. My plan is to do and start-up before trying for any placement for now.

Fee Structure is such that you have to pay 70000 at the time of admission where is 44000 is your first-semester fee and other for admission kit and other things Then: 2nd Semester Rs. 44,000 3rd & 4th semester (per semester) Rs. 45,100 5th & 6th Semester (per semester) Rs. 46,200 7th & 8th Semester (per semester) Rs. 47,300. Compared with its Campus and infrastructure fee is not that much But by adding hostel and lodging fee it costs around 8 lakhs approx. There is no direct scholarship for students and there is no such job on campus with a stipend

There is a culture fest named Euclecia and technical fest named Nescent. There other lots of fests like fashion shows and others. The library is underground and very good where you can find coursebook as well as other books full of life and course information. There are clubs named Resonance for singing, Ghungroo for dance, and Anubhav for management and stuff. There are other clubs for gaming and technology.
