Remarks

To get admission here, I had to submit my bachelor's degree score of over 60% along with my CAT scores of 55%. After being shortlisted on the basis of my scores, I was then called for a GD and PI round. The online process through the official website of the institute cost me an amount of Rs.1500. My cousin graduated from this university and considering its low tuition and decent overall ranking of #96 by NIRF and #25 by The Week, I decided to apply here. I lived in Delhi and my hometown was in Assam, so it was pretty easy to settle down here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

During the course of the period of two years, I learned the underlying sources of business in a wide range of sectors, with comprehensive exposure from faculty members with strong domain expertise in their fields. Further, they constantly sharpened our knowledge and skills through research publications, seminars, conferences, etc, at the national and international levels.

Placement Experience

4.5

Top recruiters like Pantaloons, Godrej, Google, Vodafone, Tata Motors, Axis Bank, Vedanta, Amul, Reliance, Kotak Mahindra, etc participated in our on-campus placement drive and placed over 93% of my 2020 MBA batch. The average salary package offered by these companies was 4 lakhs, whereas the highest went as high as 7.2 lakhs. Our institute's placement cell played a very important role in our success.

Fees and Financial Aid

My MBA program at NIT Silchar cost me a fee of 1.3 lakhs as the one-year fee and around 2.2 lakhs for the whole program. The fee was quite feasible in comparison to other colleges in the state. The college was also offering financial assistance along with scholarships provided by the government on the basis of need, as financial help.

Campus Life

4

My institute had one of the country's most advanced infrastructures, with cutting-edge constructions. Supercomputers, all necessary workshops, and labs were among the infrastructural amenities available. We also had a modern sports complex with auditoriums, restaurants, WiFi, a swimming pool, and a gym, among other amenities. Gymkhana- Students' Union Body, Computer Science Society (CSS), Illuminists, Electra, Civil Engineering Society, Mechanical Engineering Society, and many more societies and clubs existed at my institute to help us grow.

Admission:

Once I applied to TU with my MAT score I was asked to come to the university for the GD and PI round. My GD round went for 15 minutes and we were given the topic about GST. In my PI round questions were asked about all my background activities besides academics, my reasons for choosing this course etc. Various mock interviews online helped me a lot while preparing for this round.
