My Honest Review of WBSU

If you pass your graduation with a minimum of 45% marks on the honours paper you are eligible to apply here for post-graduation. The admission process is online. You have to visit the university's official website first and then fill the application form with all details. Then they published several merit lists based on marks. If your name is on the merit list you have to pay the admission fee which was Rs 5900. After paying fees you have to visit the university for offline verification. Then you have to do registration which costs Rs 350. This is a complete process. Now from my personal experience if you are a general candidate you need a minimum of 80% marks in graduation to be on the merit list. And if you are from a minority, you need a minimum of 70%-80% marks to be eligible especially in the Mathematics department.

I love doing Mathematics since high school. I have got good marks in Mathematics in the Higher secondary & Graduation. Now I aim to get first-class in M.sc and clear NET/SET exam. So I have taken this course. We have a total of 44 seats are available. It may increase now. We have 6 professors in total. So the student-faculty ratio is almost 7 students per one faculty. Our professors are very kind and have a lot of experience in the teaching field. They have taken online classes very regularly and consistently. They have taken practical classes offline once or two days a week. We have 4 exams to pass. If anyone studies well it's easy to pass 4 semesters.

I think the cost of studying in the University main campus is very cheaper than any other college. The admission fee was Rs 5900. Then for 1st to 4th-semester fee varies between 3000-5000. So the total cost of studying here is less than 25000 in two years. Students can apply for many scholarships. Like SVMCM scholarship. This scholarship is for both boys & girls who get above 53% marks and family income is less than 2.5L per year. There is another scholarship like Kanyashree for girls. You have to get 45% of the marks to get this scholarship.

We did not have the opportunity to celebrate cultural programs in our university because of the pandemic situation all college schools were closed. However, from our department, online fresher's programs were organized. Some seminars are also organized online. But in our university, almost all types of cultural programs are hosted. We have a very big library with different sections for different departments. There are over thousands of books are available Our library room is very clean air condition have proper space for studying. Our classroom is very clean and wide. We have many beautiful quotes on our classroom's wall. Yes, our university organizes different sports activities and annual sports programs. We have a student union group in our university.
