Remarks
Firstly college provide admission through jee main score basis, cs has the highest cut off due to its demand then other branches like mechanical, electronics cut off litter less than cs cutoff. Then if seats are left, cut off basis in +2 board exams.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the mechanical engineering course because I develop an interest in physics in 11 classes and wanted to explore more in physics, mechanical engineering is better to explore with physics than other branches. Faculty is good but you have got to take the lead self study is a must to encapsulate the knowledge. Teachers have highly qualified almost PhD holders are there to help you.
Internships Opportunities
If you are a cs engineer then you have to do the internship semester in your 8th sem but if your mechanical student then you have to do your internship in the 6th sem. Internships stipends are based on companies like Maruti gave 25k per month and also there are companies who do not give any stipend.
Placement Experience
Placements are good for every branch, cs has a higher placement record because of its demand than mechanical and electronics engineer have good placements. Cs has higher chances of getting placed almost 70-80%
Fees and Financial Aid
The major disadvantage of this college is fees, they charge almost 159000 per semester and hike 10% every year. If you get good marks in jee main test then they provide you scholarship on the basis of your marks
Campus Life
The campus is really good to attract students to take admission almost in 300 acres also the library is huge and build recently. The College library is open for 24 hours. Sports ground are there to play cricket football tennis etc almost every game. Thapar.edu is the website to explore faculty.
Hostel Facilities
There are almost 7-8 hostels for boys and 3-4 hostels for girls. Meals are good fairly for the price you pay. Firstly serve on first serve basis then cg basis hostel allocation. Hostels are provided on a share basis.
