Remarks

I got admission through jee mains. After the admission in west Bengal through WBJEE exam's results are over, then after few days registration through jee mains form is released. U have fill your details, pay the registration fee and select all the colleges and courses you want to apply. After few days allotment results are realsed according to the jeemains rank. If you are alloted any college then select any of the freeze float and slide and pay the required amount, if u didn't get any college then you can continue further till you get one.

Course Curriculum Overview

The exams till now were on average level, only if you have studied well. Its now that tough to pass. They all were taken on time. As my all exams were taken online and even got less than 6 months before our semester exam which is next month, so the toughest part was to finish all that studies in this limited time but it went smoothly.

Class Size: 65Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Here Cse/Information technology students have a better chance. TCS, Infosys, and some other companies recruit students for internships. Amazon offers internships for SDE following which they get 32 LPA but very few students get recruited in Amazon

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for campus placement during the seventh semester. The companies visiting here are Tcs, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, Oracle, Amazon, etc. Companies with higher LPA offer 10 to 20 offers while mass recruiters hire around 200 students. The highest package offered was by LinkedIn 41 LPA and the average is near 5 LPA. Almost 100 percent of students of CSE get placed. I wish to get a job at a good product based company after BTech.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is nominal but high when compared to other private colleges in West Bengal. The average cost is around Rs 6 lakhs for four years. Here the majority of students get placed on campus with an average package of around 5 lakhs per annum. Most of the students are placed in TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, and Cognizant

Campus Life

Lots of fests are held by the college like Innovation, Diversion, etc every month. The library is quite good and has a lot of books related to the syllabus. The classroom is large and airy with a sound system and projector in every room. Sports are held but since the campus size is less it is held in Uem Campus. The clubs are Toastmaster's club, Rotary Club and a lot nearer about 20 more clubs.

Likes

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. The remaining drives mostly service based companies like TCS, EY etc and quite a few startups has visited to main campus. The package they offered mostly in between 3.5lpa - 6 lpa. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Likes

The discipline is followed very strictly. Also you have access to library which is good, teachers are helpful and no ragging policy which is strictly followed and has a decent environment.
Thery conduct seminars which encourages students. Many faculty members are knowledgeable experienced in their respective subjects and helpful willing to solve doubts beyond the classroom also.
The college has decent infrastucture including classrooms, labs and library .

Dislikes

While the curriculum is decent ,it lacks sufficeint practical implementation.More hands on projects, real world application and industry exposure would improve learning significantly.
Campus life can sometimes fell limited in terms of active student interaction.Opportunites for clubs, networking and collaborative activities could be improved.
The college comes under St tHomas School so the campus is not great it is compact and has a canteen.

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Dislikes

Labs are not well maintained the machines are very slow

In case of my couse everything is coverd but it would have been much better of they focus on practicals more rather than theory. If they make us aware of all the new technologies that are used in the industry.

Ragging free campus. Strict action are taken against those who found guilty.
Classrooms are well equipped and are spacious.
There are many fun events that happen in the college

Dislikes

The campus area is too small. The library is not good
The societies are fully controlled by students so huge partiality goes on.
Some of the teachers are mean and are not good.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards , students become eligible for internships and stepping in 4th yr , students get eligible for campus placement. Techno provides decent campus placements according to your marks. Good marks also with skills get you better salary. Minimum 7.5 cgpa is mandatory to have you sit for campus placements. The lowest package is 3.4 LPA and highest vary but students also get 14LPA easily. Wipro, tcs ,cap ,gemini, amazon , ibm etc.

HIT HALDIA - AT A GLANCE

Okay, I've applied for 2-3 colleges(IEM Kolkata, Heritage Institute of Technology kolkata, Techno India Main Saltlake) alongwith HIT Haldia. But I choose this college because of mainly two reasons- 1)This is near my hometown. 6-7 km away from my house 2)My some school seniors are also studied here so they said me to take admission here Yes I've got rejection from many colleges also because my WBJEE and JEE main ranks are not so good. But I was selected to take admission i some colleges also but I didn't make that because of expensive fee structure and poor placements. Admission process of my college is not that much complicated for Regular admission like through WBJEE and JEE Mains. But for Direct admission(management quota) you may encounter some difficulties....Read More
