Remarks

I found the application form from BCKV's official website. There was available the informations about application fees and dates. The admission process was based on marks of 10+2 examination. There are reservation of seats for SC,ST,OBC-A and OBC-B candidates.

Course Curriculum Overview

There are many jobs related to agriculture like ADA,ARS,AFO etc that have high salaries and one can opt for higher studies also. All the professors are well qualified, their quality of teaching is good.

Class Size: 300Course Fees: INR 15000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Intership programmes are not too good and not related to Agriculture field. For last 8 years very less companies come for intership programmes and most of them are e-commerce companies. The average stipend they provide is 5000/month.

Placement Experience

From the last semester,8th semester the students become eligible for campus placements. Average package of the companies are 3 lakhs/year. I will opt for higher studies in Agronomy after completing UG.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are moderate, in the past the fees were very less in comparison to now. Hostel and mess fees are also less. Most of the students got Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM) for their studies.

Campus Life

Many cultural programmes like Freshers' Programme, Annual fest, Seminars etc take place in this university. There is the central library in the university, there all types of books related to agriculture are available.

Hostel Facilities

There are two boys' hostels named Raman Abas and Jagadish Abas in the campus for B.sc UG students. Bed, Chair, Table, Almirah are given to each of the students. Meal quality is very good and much cheaper. After admission students have to fill the hostel form for accommodation.

Hostel Fee: INR 3000 per year

Likes

Faculty is serious and everything happens on time with proper functioning.
I liked the food of my hostel Raman abas that's unique because hostel generally provide average food.
I liked my batchmates, seniors and my hostel mates. They're just love.

Dislikes

The hostel and faculty infrastructure is very old need replacement asap.
Rural location of colleges so urban access of blinkit,zomato etc is unavailable.
Placement numbers here is too short university need to work on that.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Honestly, I was preparing for neet but after neet i was very clear that i want to do this(Agriculture). Practical cum theory approach here will make you a awared man in this field. Placements and Governments seats after UG is very competitive although. In upcoming future everyone will going to focus on larger production in limited land/cultivation area so Agriculture will be needed today and tomorrow.

The environment of this college is very good
The professors are very friendly and helpful
The practical equipments are aslo good in this college

Dislikes

The weather especially the summer hot weather I can't tolerate
The food of hostel mess is not so good in test
The water for bath is not so good in the hostel

the college campus is very nice and big .
The education system of our college is top level .
all professors are well educated and they teach us very nicely.

Dislikes

the attendance system is highly strict .
the leacturs are very long to maintain the consistency.

I always want to persu my future on agriculture but I want a government college but I can't . So I search best privet college then I found this college in my range. I think everything is good in this college . I thing the internal exam are held very short of time.

An honest review from 2nd year student

Likes

Greenery campus and plastic free campus and campus in lard size
Well infrastructure advanced equiped laboratories
Highly educated teacher from abroad and the cooperative and supportive nature of the teachers

Dislikes

No proper dress code for the student of every department quiz legs the uniformity.
Long duration of the class timing which literally made me bored and tired to attend next class
As the University held from West Bengal so language various of course and geographical barrier like accessive heat and torrential weather

Placement Experience:

In my University they provide us to seat for the interview of those recruiting companies after 3rd semester online so this is a great opportunity for us to have an experience event because if we read for 4 year course after 1 and half year only we are getting chance to say for the interview and the companies here comes for recruitment are very renowned companies companies like Flipkart Amazon Myntra and many others TCS consultancy they always to visit for recrating so I will suggest that the placement provide by the university is good and 75 to 80% of student getting successfully placed from the university into good companies and with an average salary of 6 lpa to 9lpa

Likes

College hostel is very good and hostel charges are very affordable.
College canteen is very nice, various types of foods are available.
College to Railway station road is very good.

Dislikes

Playground is need to be maintained and it is not nearby college.
Air Conditioner is not available in class rooms

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this subject because competition for job in this sector is not so high. It's easy to get a job after complete this course. As I say earlier semester examinations are the main examination. The examination is not so hard.

Likes

Professors in this university are very talented and friendly. They help us a lot.
We get the opportunity to do lot of field works. It's very beneficial for our experiential learning.
The atmosphere o this university is very homely. You get a lot of freedom to live as you wish.

Dislikes

Hostel facilities are not so good. Sometimes there are some problems in supply of drinking water.
Assets of this university needs regular maintains. Which is not done here regularly.
Some issues of ragging and politics is also there inside the campus. And there are shortage of enough funding to run this university.

Placement Experience:

From 7th and 8th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies: Syngenta, Pradaan (NGO) etc. visited the campus for placements. Highest package 9.5-10 lac Average package 5 lac 10-15% students get on campus placement. I plan to do higher studies after getting degree.

My point of view towards my university

Likes

I really liked the university infrastructure and avaliability of library ,book store,canteen and hostel.
The university does not only give importance to study but also give importance to other co curricular activities which benefits the students very much.
The teachers and the staffs are very much supportive and cooperative .

Dislikes

The winter season is very much cold here .it becomes very much difficult to attend the early morning class.
Big market is not avaible outside the university.
Railway Station is also far away from the University. It takes nearly 50 mins to travel from the university to new coochbehar railway station.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really like to study about fruits ,plants,medicinal plants ,vegetables and their nature and behavior.There is no other better course then horticulture to study all these .So i chose this course and i am trying my level best to do something better for the future. The faculty and the student ratio is quite good,for every 10 students there is always one teacher available. The academics are good and the teachers are well qualified having ample knowledges.The teachers are very friendly and experienced which help the students in their studies and exam.The teacher also give powerpoints slide in various topics for the better knowledge of students . The term exams happens in time and the question papers are difficult to solve.If students do not attend classes or listen to the teachers carefully ,it is very difficult to solve the question papers.But if the students are attentive in class ,they will not find difficulty in solving the question papers.

After my graduation, I started my preparation for many government jobs like IBPS AFO, NABARD, IFFCO, ADA NSC, CWC etc

BCKV, a place to cherish forever.

You have to secure good percentage in Higher Secondary and clear the cutoff (More than 90%) to get into UG. You have to clear cutoff of University exams to get into PG/PhD. Eligibility is 12th with P+C+B or vocational with related subjects from any board. Students can also get admission from ICAR AIEEA (UG) exam. Application forms are available on the official website of the university ( https://bckv.edu.in ) when the application portal is opened. The date varies from time to time, generally, the application starts after the result of the 12th board exam is published. Yes, there are reservations for SC ST OBC students, General EWS students also get the benefit of reservation. In each semester there is one midterm one practical evaluation and one final end term for each course in a semester. Difficulty level is moderate.
