Good Placements but Need a bit of Improvement in Infrastructure

There is an entrance exam for Galgotias University. But I was selected directly as many other students on basis of 12th marks. As they saw the percentage was more than 75 in PCM combined, they gave the CSE course directly. So there was no reservation benefit in my category as I am in a general category, but there ain't for others as well. The application form and details are directly available in the office in Galgotias University and Galgotias College, as well as both institutes, are combined.

I did select this course because computer science engineering is a trending course currently and due to modernization and technologies dominating the world, there is a large job scope here as well compared to other branches of engineering. In each class of B.Tech, there were approx. 60 students. Most of the teachers were either done M.tech or even done Ph.D. so they knew but few teachers of South, we had communication issues with them. Exams were timely, as 3 continuous assessments, 1 internal practical exam, 1 external, and 1 theory final exam.

The internship was not offered through companies, in 2 years the internship was Mainly through skills and Aicte on the technology upon AWS, cloud, machine learning, etc. But students can find the internship of their interest as well and do that. As I always did that because I was interested in Graphic design and video editing.

I will agree that the placement in my course is quite good. As I am a placement coordinator myself as we are the mediator between student and placement cell, so every list of results and company details we see. Almost more than 90 - 95 % of students in CSE have been placed, but I can't the same about other branches. The average package was 4 LPA per Annum. The highest this year I have seen was 22 LPA. All mass recruiters like cognizant, Accenture, DXC, Capgemini have visited and even MI, Vivo, etc have visited the campus. I have been selected in Xoriant Technologies at 5.5 LPA and I will start working there after graduation.

I had a specialization so I had to pay 180000 per annum instead of normal CSE had fees of 159000, but that specialization didn't teach much helpful to us. So it was not as effective as the cost study to the course curriculum. I didn't have any scholarship, but at the end of the final sem, as currently, it's my final semester, I have been placed in a company with a package of 5.5 LPA per Annum so it's okay as the Money spend.

The college had a large number of clubs as graphics, movies, comics, games, sports, etc. I was myself in 3 clubs, graphic, comics, and video games and I was the head of the comics club. There were a lot of extracurricular activities. We had an annual fest named "Unifest" but we did observe it only once in March 2019, after that COVID came, and it went to hell. About the library, they had quite a lot of books and there was 3 library on the campus for different schools such as business, engineering, etc. And they have even added an e-library now. Classes were not air-conditioned even when it was in the prospectus, so it was a lie there. Else all infrastructure did develop over time.

The hostel was good, but the food was quite bad. I did stay in the 1st year at campus hostel and the facilities of yoga, games room, lounge, study room as everything was good. But the mess food was quite bad, as I had lived from class 3 in a hostel, but this was worse. You can register for the hostel directly at the time of admission in the office. After 1st year, I stayed outside in a private hostel named "Royal Paradise".
