Remarks

The admission is done on the basis of marks secured in Class 12th. You need to have a minimum of 60% in 12th grade (The eligibility criteria differs from stream to stream i.e., Commerce, Science, and Arts). The dates for admission forms and the process is updated on their college website. You have to pre-register with Mumbai University. The college fee is reduced exponentially if you belong to a minority community. From 2022-23, Wilson College is getting an autonomous status. So, a lot of processes is going to get easier and more streamlined.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course because I want to be in the film industry. I want to become an actor. This course helps us to get aware of all the media industries. Be it films or television or even radio. Now, there are even more fields such as Public Relations and Event Management. There is an almost equal number of girls and boys. The faculty have industry experience and are well-spoken. They help us in each and every way possible. The use of presentations and modules is common. The learning process is fun and easy. The examinations are conducted in a semester pattern. There are a total of 6 semesters that are conducted on time. The syllabus covers a wide range of topics such as communication, films, photography, etc.

Internships Opportunities

3

I have little idea about the internship opportunities offered by the college as I am a first-year student. I do know this, though, that there are various industry people coming in and providing internships to students so that they can have practical experience. Various production houses are always on the lookout for media graduates. Radio stations such as Mirchi come to the college for finding fresh talents.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees are increased every year by 1000-2000 rupees. I am not so sure about this but there is certainly an increase. I paid 18500 rupees. There are scholarships available for the students who need them. The college website provides all the information about the types of scholarships that are available.

Campus Life

3.5

Students are mostly from Mumbai itself but there is also a large number of outstation students. The college has OlA fest which is conducted annually in the month of January/February. The biggest fest of BMM department is Polaris. Various celebrities also attend the festival. There is a huge library where students can read and even take the books home. There exists various clubs such as Nature's Club, Readers Club, Film Club where students get to talk and express their opinions about things. The classrooms are big equipped with a blackboard. There are plenty of opportunities for one to get into sports. Every month, one or the other event is held for students to showcase their skills and talents.

Other Applied Colleges

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course. It helped me in my personality building and also I learned new things like- Video and photo editing, handling cameras, communication skills, Acting, Advertisement writing and shooting, and many more. Class strength is good as they allow 25-30 students for one course. Faculties were too supportive and masters of their own fields. They take 2 internals and 1 final exam at the end of the semester which is of 6 months.
