Remarks

It's quite easy to take admission in the galgotias University and anyone can take admission if they want to as long as they've passed their 12th... You can find application form online via their website or can fill one form from Galgotias college of engineering, all the application dates are available on their website. The only improvement I would like to see is that they should stop sugar coating and put out facts more clearly, also stop selling specialisation as something superior when the only superior thing about it is the extra fees and extra classes that almost contribute to nothing. The admission process is quite smooth, just come to the university/college(GCET) during the admission phase, go to the auditorium, show your marksheet photocopies, they'll coax you and sell you their courses, if you bite the bait, welcome to galgotias University, you can opt for exam for some scholarship, the exam is average for someone who studied properly in school. Admission isn't on exam criteria

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

It's a mixed experience, the faculty is fine... It's a mix breed, some teachers are good whole some aren't, for most of the times the faculty is nice though college management sucks bad, the faculty student ratio should be i guess 1:80 or so, the teachers are well qualified and they do take feedback for the teachers to ensure that the teachers do their jobs properly, the exams are really annoying here, ever since the new pattern we have monthly exams so every month we waste 1 week for exams, the exams are really easy to pass, if you listen to what the teacher is teaching in the class and follow them closely you can score good marks though since it's a university where the teachers check the copies instead of an external teacher, in case of an argument between student and teacher cause of which bad blood arise between the duo, the student can suffer fire consequences so beware of that. As far as it goes for why I chose this course well... At first i thought it was my passion but now idk

Placement Experience

3.5

From seventh semester here the placement starts, the placements are average and something that I am about to find out so there's not much I can tell, the placement percentage here is really high though and until unless you totally didn't do a thing you will get the basic placement which is one of the pros of this University, my plans after the degree are to prepare for GATE and pursue masters from a prestigious college to strengthen my career

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no fees hike which is a really good part about University, the tuition fee for the course of B. tech remains are 160,000 inr an year and 180,000inr for specialisation courses. So far till in 3rd year, University hasn't provided any opportunities for scholarship but it provides students access to various webinars, seminars and workshops that they can attend to. As far as it goes for an internship and a paid internship with a stipend at that, forget about getting it from the University, if you want one you've to get it on your own. The university can help you get an education loan if you aren't able to pay the fee though for normal students the university is ruthless, they leave no opportunity making students run from one corner to the other in the university if the student hasn't completely paid the fee for the given year, also the financial assistance in unusual cases like in covid times was horrible, they won't leave a chance to gobble up your money down so beware of that.

Campus Life

3

Cause of the pandemic I didn't got to experience any of the fests but the university has an annual fest called unifest held in first quarter of the year and a hackathon called dexterix that takes place every year where students from all years participate and work overnight competiting against other students to win exciting prizes . The university renovated the library and it looks real nice though it still lacks the volume needed for a library but it's a good place to study, a real nice, clean and quiet place where you can focus properly to study. There are a lot of sports held in the university like football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, squash, badminton etc though only squash and basketball have a proper court, there's no auditorium for volleyball and badminton and you've to play in an open court and football and cricket ground dimensions are wrong, it's just a makedo open ground where you can play field sports conveniently

Hostel Facilities

1.5

I would totally not recommend the hostel mess here, My personal experience was horrible The food except breakfast constantly tastes bad with a few days exception. The rooms are fine in the hostel, they even give you cleaning service free of cost and washing machines to wash your clothes, the common washrooms on each floor are big and nice to use the hostel is pretty clean but the mess is bad, the good quality is subpar, the menu changes monthly, for the price you pay, it's better to get a hostel near the university that provides you transportation as well instead of opting for the university hostel. I would recommend searching for hostels/PG/flats around knowledge park II area or pari chowk, other near sectors are fine as well but these two take the top two spots. The registration process is quite simple, pay the hostel fee and you are allotted a room, sign all the details and get the room key and you are done, hostel rooms are fine, the mess is not, cafeteria is expensive to eat daily

Placement Experience:

Placements are both on and off-campus based. Placements are usually common for both IT and Non-IT students, Technical or Non-Technical. Students become eligible, in their final years to pursue internships or acquire placements. Usually students from Computer Science and Engineering avail more placement opportunities. The Medical Department have more options of Employability. Companies like HCL, Byju's, Extramarks, IBM and other local companies like Stambh Power Systems, Pieinfocomm and others have arrived. But the placement ratio needs to be increased. Off-Campus Placements are more successful. Highest Package can be 8lpa CTC to average package be 2.5lpa CTC, with profiles of assistance and associates. Atleast 30% students get placed on average. My plans are based on Learning in different ways.
