Remarks

I took admission in 2020 on a merit basis which is how admissions are done for most of the UG courses. The cutoff of shaheed bhagat singh for geography honors was around 90 percentage in 2020 which was higher than previous years. A large number of students apply for DU, the numbers increase every year, making DU one of the most sought after colleges in the country. The cutoff have started to even go to 100 percentage in top colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose Geography because after 12th I wanted to pursue civil services and i had planned to take geography as optional in UPSC and also, I had interests in geography more than any other subjects which might overlap with UPSC syllabus. Faculty in the college aren't very qualified IMO but it doesn't really impact if you are serious about your studies. Semester exams are easy to get thorough and teachers do take test before main exams. Overall one can easily achieve good marks.

Placement Experience

2

The placements in college are average. One can easily access the placement records on the official college website. Most of the students who take admitted in DU, come to delhi with vision for UPSC as delhi is hub for it. So students start their preparation from 2nd and 3rd year and they don't normally care about placements as these companies don't offer big money.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is highest for geography department in the college and it's also the best department. I have paid around 8k each year. Also those who wish to get scholarship, college releases notification for student aid fund, for which student have to fill the form and attach the required documents and then college calls them for a brief F2F meeting which is just a formality and then you get the scholarship in your bank account.

Campus Life

3.5

The infrastructure of the college is really beautiful. Library might just be the best part of it, which is well equipped. The classrooms, on the other hand are the worst part of the college. Benches aren't well furnished, classroom isn't clean. If you enjoy extra curriculum activities then you're gonna love it here. There are of societies and social gatherings which literally take place every day.

Almost 100% as our course students dont have to do much as getting to this college is enough. Our economics society and placement cell both work so hard to get the best companies here and that is why placements at St, Stephen's are amazing not just of our branch but overall as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

According to me, bachelor of Arts is a waste program, it doesn't prepare you for anything except government exams. It doesn't prepare you for real world applications unless you have other in demand skills. I think there's a lot of need to change the syllabus of bachelor of Arts and teachers should be supportive and qualified. In every 6 months there's semester exams and mostly they're quite difficult.

Remarks:

Positive- Faculty is one of the best in among all colleges of Delhi University. It has the biggest infrastructure in Delhi university. Located in central Delhi which makes it easily accessible to reach Central park, red fort, and many more places in New Delhi. Negative- Annual fest is very poor in our college. Placements are not very good. Lack of sports facilities. Very strict rules and discipline.
