Remarks
Admission is based on jee mains score or PCM criteria done over 3 rounds. There is one thing that you need to consider is that there is a Punjab quota also. For CS you need At least 96 percentile in jee or 95% in PCM of 12th board exam. NRI quota is also available but they charge a lot of fees around $6600/year (only institution fee) hostel charges are $1750/year.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty are knowledgeable but the curriculum of the college is outdated. Some faculty struggle to clear doubts about the latest software and technologies. I had chosen this course as it is the best option currently in terms of job opportunities and growth. The faculty ratio is decent there are about 70 faculty members for CS. The Ph.D. students also teach a few subject tutorials. All the faculty members are Ph.D. holders, most of them have decent teaching methods but few are unable to clear the doubts of the students properly. There are 2 exams held during the semester one mid sem and the other end sem and they are held 2 months apart. The exam's difficulty level ranges between medium and hard, it depends on the student's understanding of the concepts.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like jp morgan, McKinsey, optimum, Deshaw, etc. Have been offered an internship with a stipend of around 50k for a Software Engineering role. Some companies have also offered around 30k for summer internships alone.
Placement Experience
Campus placement starts in the 7th sem and the 8th sem is completely for internship or research. Most companies that visit the campus are Deloitte, adventure, jp morgan, McKinsey, dad has TCS, etc. The highest package offered is 42L and avg is around 8L. Around 99% of students get placed in good companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees have been constant at around 4L/year inclusive of all institutions and hostels. Students can apply for financial assistance if their family income is low. The scholarship is given to the top 20 students in all the branches. The highest scholarship is given to the students who have the highest CGPA.
Campus Life
Initially, when you enter the college as a freshman there are a lot of fests like society fair, saturnalia, proem eve, frosh, etc. There are good sports and extra curriculum activities like inter hostel competitions.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are very nice as compared to NITs. As you go to 2nd year the hostels get even better with AC facilities. But the rent also increases accordingly. The food quality is also compared compared to other colleges
