Remarks

It was really very good, The society FROSH was very helpful during the admission process and they helped a lot in managing each and everything. The teachers and the team Thapar were so cooperative and literally, they helped a lot in the selection process. Each and everything was in the Auditorium but the issue was The size of the Auditorium was small and the seating space was less, So It also caused a lot of mesh outside the Auditorium.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course here is good. The content being taught is very good and then their labs are also very good. The teachers here are not so good, but in some subjects are very helpful sometimes, and the lab teachers are always different. They are also very helpful and they explain the topics very well and the main thing is they are also very helpful during the exam times and also helpful for that. Thanks to the amazing teachers here at Thapar University.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The internship Opportunities we get here are not a lot. Like in 2nd here, very few companies visit our college and we literally have to find it off-campus. But the brand value of Thapar is good, We even get good opportunities on LinkedIn. We get some companies like Arcesium, DeShaw, and JPMC but they hire very few students. Like only 50 students got selected out of 2000+ and these companies hire also in Placements.

Placement Experience

4

The placements here are good. The average package in CSE we get is around 9-10LPA. Top companies like DeShaw, Apple, Arcesium, Salesforce, Optum, Flipkart, Oracle, Cisco, JPMC, McKinsey, and a lot of other companies also visit us in the companies. We get some of the top packages here and the package here is very good.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees here are very high. Like they charge 2L per semester for that and it is really very hurting to pay this huge fee. the mess fees are around 50K per semester. The fees here are huge and they also increase 10% every semester. It is really very hurting and we middle-class families really can't afford that. It is really hurting as they increase every semester and paying this much is very very hard for us.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is good here, Infrastructure is good and they even have to spend a lot of money just making hostels. The social life is very good and we literally spend a lot of time enjoying the social life here. We even enjoy that with our friends and have a lot of fun here on the grounds. Extra-Curricular Activities here are really very good and we have really good food here in our mess. Thanks to the amazing people we have found here.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostels here are good. We have proper ventilation, We all have balconies and we even spend our time in the common areas. There is AC in each room and in the mess we get the quality food. A lot of times, Dinner is not good and the canteen we have here is also very good. We get a lot of dishes in the canteen too at affordable prices and it is amazing to have such quality food at this much price like Paneer Parantha in 30Rs which is very delicious and we get almost every chips and a cold drink in the mess here.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
