Remarks

The eligibility of my course was minimum 75% in Class 12th and minimum 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Maths and high cut-off in JEE examination. It doesn't require an entrance test. The application form and fee details are easily available on the University's LMS portal. Reservation benefits are given to the OBCs, SCs, STs and State Quota. The admission process can be improved in future if the University officials can take entrance tests and a one to one viva so that more and more quality students are given chance after measuring their potential.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is relevant and industry requirements are been taken consideration. All the faculty members are highly qualified with PHD and have industry experience of at least 5-8 years. The faculty:student ratio is 1:18. The teachers deliver knowledge with vast experience and innovative ideas. The term exams were held every month and the difficulty rate per subject is really high.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Companies like IBM, Oracle, Deloitte, Accenture, Microsoft, Intel, Infosys, Adobe and the top roles provided are Software engineer, Data Analyst, Fund Managers, Management Head and Cyber Security Analyst. To clarify their tasks one needs to be perfect in any one program language, should know DSA, should have a good CGPA of above 8 and should have idea of industry related languages and tools that are needed.

Placement Experience

3.5

After 5th Semester the students get eligible for campus placements. With a placement percentage of 90% and above many tech companies like IBM, Devolitte, Amazon recruite Software engineers from our University every year. The highest package recorded in 10 years was 40 LPA and average placement package was 12 LPA. After getting my Bachelor’s degree, I am planning to pursue my Masters in foreign.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of Thapar institute of engineering and technology for this course is 24 LPA. The course guarantees good placement percentage of 90% with an average placement package of 12 LPA, according to the fees hike policy. The Scholarship is been provided on the basis of semester cgpa more than 8.5 cgpa and Job eligibility criteria is a minimum of 7 cgpa with placement cell support.

Campus Life

3.5

The College life at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is amazing. We are able to connect with the innovative juniors as well as our hardworking seniors. Availability of books in libraries is good. The amenities in Classrooms are descent. The extra curriculum activities other than academics are really enjoyable. There are many societies and clubs that are run by students themselves of which I am a part of some them are Mudra Society, Toastmasters Club, Carneon Event, Sur Society.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel Facilities are descent and the caretakers are approachable. The review of meal is on time and quality of food is above average. The Registration Process for Hostel is mostly done online and payment for fee recipient is required with full details about the student as well as his/her guardian. If I had rented for a PG I would not have able to enjoy with my friends like I was able to and I was not have been guaranteed to be served with such good quality food.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
