Remarks

There is a VITEEE exam conducted by VIT every year. The exam is of average level, if you're doing preparation for IIT then cracking VITEEE should not be a big deal for you. You can apply for the VITEEE exam online from the VIT's official site. The exam fee is 1000 rupees. There are no reservation facilities, but if you're a board topper or state topper then you get some off on your tuition fee. If you manage to get a rank 1-1000 then you get a scholarship.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose Computer Science with Engineering as my course because this subject is my interest and I really enjoy coding. So, I can say I chose this course because of my own interest. There are many faculties in VIT Chennai, every faculty teach around 60-65 students in a class. All the faculties own Ph.D. in their respective fields, the teaching method is also good as both PPTs and whiteboards are used to explain the concepts in a simple and good manner. The exam schedule is out just after the commencement of the sem, and the exam dates are fixed i.e. you already know the exam dates so it's a good thing. Passing marks is 40 out of 100 in the final FAT exam and in total, we need to score 50+ out of 100 marks. It is a bit difficult to pass the exams.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Reddy's, Bosch, Ford, Global Analytics, etc are the companies that come for an internship, and spending varies from 5k to 50k. One needs to have a very good CV that contains many projects that solve real-world problems. The companies will shortlist accoring to the performance in academics and projects.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students become eligible for campus placements from 7 sem onwards. Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Wipro, etc. There are 3500+ offers made in the college, The highest package is 44 LPA and the average is 7lpa. 80-90% of students get placed in college. To get a good job from the on-campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee is 200k for Category 1 students in all the branches and for the hostel and mess it depends on the student. VEG MESS + 4 BED Non Ac Room - 110k Rupee. If you take an AC room then the fee increases by 40k and these fees are for a whole year and not for sem. Overall for a normal student in category 1, it will cost around 315k Rupees.

Campus Life

4.5

TechnoVIT and Vibrance are two major fests in the college, The TechnoVIT is conducted in winter around the month of October and the vibrance is conducted around the month of Feb-March. There are thousands of books available in the library. The library of the college is quite big, it has 4 floors and all the books and journals are kept in it. Classrooms don't have ACs and you'll get the feel of school as the sitting arrangement is like that only. There are many sports available such as football, basketball, volleyball, etc. and tonnes of extracurricular activities are there on campus, we can easily find one or two activities occurring every single day. There are more than 50 clubs present in the college, all the clubs have their websites which are created by students. All the clubs have 40-50 members and they run actively.

Other Applied Colleges

Chandigarh University - [CU] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Because VIT is good in all the things than CU, the average package is more and even the faculties of VIT are better than CU. The other thing is VIT, Chennai is situated in Chennai, so it also gives us a good opportunity to explore a metro city. The co-cur

From the very entry into your third year, you will be eligible to most of the placements. The training provided is very exquisite and some of the trainings start as early as 1st year. 2026 highest package was 55LPA. Many companies like from product companies like Microsoft, Capgemini to service based companies like TCS, INFOSYS etc.. visit our campus for regular placements. About 98% of people placed as far as I have heard.
