Remarks

The admission process was easy, had to contact an agent or representative of the University. There was no application form we had to submit the certificates and marksheet then based on marks they provide certain scholarships and send the offer letter. Some friends did reservations and paid less in the admission charge too

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

My interest was in life sciences so I got admission to BTech Biotechnology, obviously in vel tech because I got a certain scholarship. Faculty students ratio is 1:10. Almost all the faculties are at least master's holders in the relevant field. The majority are specialized with PhD and post-doc in the same subject they are teaching. If you are joining vel tech you should not be afraid of exams. You will have to write 3 to 4 internal exams that too in a very short period of time, if you are paying attention in class obviously you are going to pass even if you are chilling the rest of the time. If we talk about course curriculum you have to study just five chapters in each subject and have to clear internal with at least 50% to be eligible. The courses are easily depending on your interest.

Placement Experience

4

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of vel tech is increasing every year since the student demand for the college is increasing especially in Cse, It and biotech department. Every year the fees (semester and hostel) fee is increasing and yet the students are taking admission the only thing they see is the placement opportunities. As well as many semesters abroad programs, internships from other partner industries and colleges are available. Students have been going for internship for master's and PhD, especially in Taiwan. The students of vel tech can avail the international scholarships like Mitacs global, Charpak, CERN etc. There is no financial assistance from the campus. 90% Probability of getting placement from the college if you are from the CSE and IT department. other departments students get placed but the package may be very low like 3.5 to 4.5 LPA. Also, students are allowed to start their own companies on the campus as startup funds you will be given a certain amount too.

Campus Life

2.5

Talking about social life at vel tech University is not much good if you are from north India. The college is best for south Indian students. An annual fest like Lavaza and the flash mob is organized between Oct - Jan. South Indian festival like the Pongal celebration, and the Onam celebration is done with pomp and show but north Indian festival like Holi is not given much preference here. There are clubs like NSS, NCC, UBA VEL TECH Eco club, Some department has their own students club. IEEE chapters are there for different departments. You can get all the required books available in the central library at the university. Annual sports day is organised every year in the month of June-July. The classroom is well equipped with a smart board as well as a chalk duster.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
